I don't recall ever seeing a Bond film but am wondering whether to take a chance on this one since reading an interview with Sam Mendes about his vision for it.

Prepare to be shocked. I'll spoiler it for those of a nervous dispostition.
From BBFC website: SKYFALL contains a single use of strong language, which is uttered when a character states they have "f**ked up". The use is resigned rather than aggressive and is not directed at another person. There is also some moderate and mild bad language, including uses of 'bitch', 'bloody', 'buggered', 'shit', 'hell', 'damned', 'Christ' and 'God'.
I am shocked! I'm flabbergasted. I don't know where to look. My eyes are tarnished. Lol.

Not sure where they get "single instance" from as seen written on tv trailer. I do however think these disclaimers are far too cossetting anyhow.

I'd like to hear Bond drop a c-bomb... all the stuff he deals with, it's justified

I saw this last night at a special cokezone screening at Vue Westfield. We were treated to loads of Bollinger Champagne (I think I had about five flutes! Well there was two hours to kill) and large canapes like beef sandwiches with ciabatta bread, salmon and caviar, and lamb wraps, some massive choc brownies. And plenty of cans of Coke Zero and on the seats too, but bottles of Coke Zero and also popcorn. There was a trivial quiz and a game of roulette to win some prizes, they didn't really say what the prizes were, and I did not win!

Unfortunately, the seating plan they used to allocate everyone seats were for Screen 1 and they were using Screen 2, so all the seats that we were allocated with numbers 19 and 20 were actually missing in Screen 2 as they were stairways! So we stood around quite a while waiting to be seated. And the back row was missing in Screen 2. Took the Vue staff some time to get everyone into other seats, so seats 19 and 20 in Screen 1 are actually 5 and 6 in Screen 2

Anyway, believe the hype! Not your usual Bond films, but still entertaining! Daniel Craig is still good as Bond, tough, rugged and him and Judi Dench have such good rapport. Naomie Harris has a good role. Can't remember where I have seen her before though, she seems familiar. 8/10
Not a lot of gadgets, no Bond girls per se, more back story about Bond.
When you say not your usual Bond film do you mean not like the pre-Craig ones and not like the rebooted series either?

Yes, I think you could say that it is not like the pre-Craig ones. I am not sure if I would be giving anything away, so I put it in the spoiler! ;) Sorry. What is the rebooted series?
