TheWrenster wrote:It was a mish-mash of so many good ideas it would have been better if one was chosen and stuck with. In Burges was such a simple tale yet it worked so well. Here it is so complex that it just came across as being too proud of itself. Walken was excellent but on the whole, disappointing.
Couldn't agree more. There seem to be too many storylines going on at the same time, and so it lacked structure and coherence. The trailer promised so much, but failed to live up to the hype.

There were some laughs to be had, so I'd give it a 5/10.

This was, of course, written before In Bruges, so those who went to see it with that film in mind (I include myself) might have had expectations which were in the event unmet?

Having loved In Bruges, I'm glad I didn't part with any cash to see this. My free O2 ticket makes it easier to accept the disappointment. I had high hopes for this film.

Watched this after ice skating with a friend outside the Natural History Museum. A few funny bits, I think I should have had a few more drinks before going to see it. Christopher Walken brilliant as ever 7/10

We quite enjoyed this when we saw it at the O2. I found it quirky and different but then I have not seen In Bruges, so I had absolutely no expectations at all.

Watched In Bruges yesterday and this was a far better, and funnier film (even without the alcohol) in my opinion.

Did not expect that. Loved it 7/10

I did exactly the same as you at that point. My partner thought my reaction was hysterically funny. I didn't expect it either.
