I like the seats at the front better view and less people about to cause irritation

I think all seats are the same in terms of comfort.

nope no cricking of neck I try to sit on the second row though.
but I think most modern cinemas have all the sightlines worked out during planning, so the only ones where you might crick your neck are the older ones.

I also find that in a particularly good film you can get more 'lost' and immerse yourself in the film if there's less things in your field of view.

saw this in Edinburgh FP tonight. Very busy and lots of nose blowing and very quiet with few latecomers which made a change.
Lots of people talking about the film and the book on the way out. We enjoyed it Cameron Diaz really grew on me and in the end I thought she was well cast. Thought the make up artists had done a great job.
Have not read the book, was about to but decided to wait and see the film first.
We would give it 8/10.

Beate wrote:But aren't you too close to the screen up front? I would hate to have to crick my neck which is why I always head to the back, even being shortsighted - the screens are big enough to see.
I'm tall so I slide down in the seat a bit so that my head is supported by the seat back and that requires me to put my feet up on the railings. In that position I only need to move my eyes to see the entire screen.

Great film.....I cried buckets....and loved every minute of it.
A good 8/10
Only problem is that I couldn't stand Diaz as the mother role ....she was totally unconvincing.
A lesser know actress with some motherly qualities would have worked a lot better.
This doesn't mean being fat and frumpy.....just a bit more 'real'.

Yep Beate.....I agree too.
But I love a good tear-jerker and it was touching to see how a child's illness has such an impact on the whole family.
To think that Kate had a chance to experience love towards the end, was enough to start me off and I didn't stop sobbing until the very end....
Saddo....I know!!!
