Hmm, it actually looks easier if I stay near the station (which is very close to the venue you're booking) and just suck up a 30-minute walk to parkrun on the Saturday morning. It also seems safer, in terms of getting in late at night on the Friday and trying to find a hotel in the dark.

I have a sort of plan!

I am planning on doing plenty of sight seeing before and after the meet up. Just wondering if The Fox or anybody else with local knowledge can recommend places that are musts to visit (I am going off your suggestions The Fox)?
Just thinking out loud now possibly the castle before the meet up then stroll down to Brewers Yard and possibly the Nottingham contemporary before going to The Arboretum before I get my train back. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc ... xRZz0Agy3Y
This will be a substitute for our absent Mr Glass and his telescope. St Marys church looks cute as does the old town square and the lace market.
I do know that I am ridiculous at times trying to fit in loads but I haven't been to Nottingham since I was 17 so want to make the most of the day - someone on this site suggested that I would of had big hair dodgy clothes back in the early 80's  As if ;)

Anyone is welcome to join me but I am also happy doing stuff by myself.

I've booked our train home on the saturday, 18.47 from Newark North Gate, as it was the last two seats with the cheaper tickets! :tears:

Have taken the friday off work o/

Here’s an idea, not necessary a must -

Have a look at the map of Nottingham City centre, you’ll have an idea of locations etc.

https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/about ... entre-map/

I was thinking from the train station – 4, L8/M8 (map location) follow the tram line up (walkable) towards the Lace Market area for - Nottingham Contemporary and the Pitcher and Piano which is next door 32 J8 and St Marys Church 74, J9.

Then follow the tram line down to Old Market Square / Council House where the Lions are 34/45, H6/H7

Then over to the Castle and Robin Hood Statue 30 / 36, K4/J5

Then down to Brewhouse Yard 24, K5 and then to the Trip 42 K5.

The Arboretum is located on map 22, C3 / D3 it is a trek from the Trip, it is do able, me I would jump on the tram at Market Square and get off the at the Arboretum stop :P
