I've neither seen the film nor know anything about Chanel (the brand or the person) so I'd be surprised if I was right!! Just going with my instinct...

Complaining about a film you have no intention of seeing. Hm....

There is Chanel range for men.... (at least in fragrance)

Coco Chanel is for fashion, frangrance, cosmetics and style (and attitude) ike what Moore and Gibbons (combined) are for Watchmen and comic books.....

My instinct is that if you want to make peace with me by getting me a little (real) Chanel handbag, I will totally accept this! ( a girl can dream... especially where Chanel is concerned).

Why not go and see???? :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: I b*ght the Watchman book (but never got to the film as it was not on when I was here...

Sorry if someone has already posted a reminder but ... if you have not got last weeks Sunday Times and you are worried about getting access to the Coco screenings:
phunkygal wrote: you will need an original copy of the advert in Culture Magazine from Sunday July 5th or the front cover of the following Sunday's Culture magazine.
I.e. - you can pick up a copy of the ST on the way to the cinema....

(Hmmm - there was a time when you got given a free copy of the Times - or another paper - at these Sunday morning screenings!)

For girlies (or anyone) who like Chanel style:

First, to see the dresses from the film:
http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/09071 ... tumes.aspx

And secondly, from http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/09050 ... ld-ta.aspx:

WITH her gamine beauty, elfin crop and understated French insouciance, Audrey Tautou seems to many the only actress capable of accurately portraying the legendary Mademoiselle of the Rue Cambon - and it seems Karl Lagerfeld agrees.

"I met Karl Lagerfeld several times," Coco Avant Chanel's director Anne Fontaine revealed. "We showed him the sketches of the clothes my costume designer, Catherine Leterrier, was making. When Karl saw pictures of Audrey Tautou, he told me she was the only 'true Chanel.' We collaborated in a very natural way with the Maison Chanel."

Tautou herself was in awe of Coco Chanel, not only as a fashion icon and style pioneer, but for her tenacity and ability to challenge the limitations placed on women of her time.
"Her celebrity is all the more exceptional at the beginning of the 20th Century as Chanel had to fight against conventions that were very paralyzing for women," Tautou asserted.

"This film describes the destiny of a woman; it is not only for haute couture lovers. Chanel was born with an understanding of life and women that was totally ahead of her time."
The film is set to open worldwide in late July, click back to view our exclusive interview with its star then.

Saw the trailer today, for the first time. Not very illuminating and I'd already arranged to see the film, but at least it made a change from the repellent trailers of late.
