Re: The Social Network
I thought it was excellent. It's up there with the best film I've watched this year.
Re: The Social Network
Agggghhhhhhh 2nd No Show of film reel for this year
, did not fancy watchin Back To The Future which was the only film the Odeon offered as a replacement and ended up p*ying and going to see Buried instead.

Re: The Social Network
We really enjoyed this film. Saw it at Uxbridge and the cinema was about 90% full. Quite a long film, but I think I only noticed 1 person going to the toilet, which i thought was good. I thought it was quite funny in parts and especially sad how the co-founder was treated.
I would like to say to the persons (if you are on this site) that you can't reserve the 11 premier seats for your friends. If they are not with you when you get there, tough luck. I think you were very very selfish !

Re: The Social Network
Thanks to valda for the spare ticket, and Beate for the pair I passed down the line.
Was so so gracious to finally see my tagged film of the year, never thought I'd see it when I woke up this morning until the p*id screening on Sunday at my local. I do like the Odeon Covent Garden, even if it was packed. And the film, whilst essentially actors reading a script with a camera plopped in front of them for 2 hours was definitely the best film I've seen this year, beating Pilgrim. Sorkin's words were amazing in script form, and when Andrew Garfield, Jesse Eisenberg, Armie Hammer, Justin Timberlake et all got to working with them, it was a symphony of conversations and witticisms. I loved it and intend to see it a fair few times over in the coming weeks.
Oscars aplenty this film deserves, however I figure it'll be overlooked like Zodiac.
10/10

11 seats??? 1 or 2 is acceptable. That's just taking the peelbaxx wrote:We really enjoyed this film. Saw it at Uxbridge and the cinema was about 90% full. Re: The Social Network
Gave my tickets to son(16) and daughter(20) as I've got a bad cold today. Looks like I missed out big time on what they described as 'an amazing film'. Son said it was the best film he'd seen this year! They said that the screening was practically full at Liverpool Odeon and that the film seemed to be very well received.

Re: The Social Network
Saw this today at Odeon Holloway Rd today. After being stuck in a seminar that lasted 30 min longer than it was supposed to, I arrived at the cinema 5 min before the start of the movie. To my surprise, the film was already being screened. When I finally managed to find a seat with the help of an usher (I couldn't see a thing!) I looked at my watch and it was 6:28 pm.
I know, a film about facebook sounds a bit lame, but the film is very good, which is not surprising considering that David Fincher directed it. Loved the soundtrack too.
8.5/10
I'm just thinking, how annoying this film must be for Marc Zuckerberg...

Re: The Social Network
Thanks Ethan for taking my spare
I loved it, I'm a big fan of Sorkin and his script crackled along at a racing pace. I'll have to dig out Studio 60 and get another fix.
The film really didn't seem like a 2 hour film, it was so interesting that the time flew by. I didn't know the story and had no idea that the Napster guy was involved for instance. The leads were all excellent, good to see Andrew Garfield going from strength to strength. I wasn't familiar with Jesse Eisenberg (?) but he was very good playing a quite unlikeable character. this is in my top 5 of the year 9/10

Re: The Social Network
I liked this a lot, really absorbing story and the 2 hours flew by... the only downside for me was Timberlake, but still and easy 8/10.
The score by the way was by Trent Reznor (N.I.N.)
