enjoyed it too, excellent musical, which might threaten my top ten musicals list.

I'm afraid it won't threaten any top ten list of mine, in fact it was my third best musical of the week. However I did actually think it was very good (I've been very lucky this week) and much better than I was expecting based on the reviews.

and that "dolly bird" what a voice, she can certainly belt it out.

Sophie Isaacs - she certainly can and I was also very impressed with the voice of Adrian der Gregorian (Eddie).

Thanks for that! I agree about Eddie too, hence I said he brought a tear to my eyes! Yes, much better than what the reviews made out.

I do hope we will get more from SFF as I want to see it again, owing to the fact that I was with too noisy people next to me and I missed a lot of lines from their constant loud laughter. It is ok for them, they have seen it already!

The theatre probably took away SFF's allocation as has been the case in the past.

So sad that they cancelled them, was really looking forward to it! Is anyone going to try to get in anyway?

Yes, although I think there was some confusion over those. I don't think everyone got a cancellation email and of course it was a different theatre. Could well be worth trying if not travelling a long way though.

You would be taking a chance. Looking at their website they don't have too many seats available for tonight or tomorrow. And tickets are available via the LQ Booth. From what was said to me by film first, they were withdrawn by the theatre. I suspect there was an increase in pa*d demand due to the performance on Children in Need last Friday. Though odd they did not factor that in.

That is what I was thinking, more pa*d demand after Children in Need, they got some free advertising! It looked really good too on TV, hence the uptake in tickets. They did give out more Rock of Ages tickets even though the tickets continued to sell well. So hopefully, the theatre will still give out a small allocation.

I know what you mean; but you take the rough with the smooth in this game. irony for me. I originally booked the Wednesday, but switched to Thursday so I could be accompanied by my daughter. I suspect this will not be last offer on this show.

Although they had been cancelled i had already printed my showfilm ticket page a day before. So i just took the chance and turned up to the Adelphi at 6.50pm last night Thursday 21st and was given two tickets without any fuss. They were already printed with a price fee of £0.00 at box office, lady behind counter didnt even check my name, just grabbed them from the side of her. Amazing stall seats (which usual sell for £55 when i checked today). I would say just turn up if you dont have to trek home too far. I was going on way from work. The Production it self was really good, be advised of adult humour and language, but be aware starts 7.30pm, finish 10.15pm.

"Hello. Unfortunate news about the performance of Henry IV, Pt 1 on December 18th, for which you have made a reservation.
When the RSC stage understudy runs in Stratford, they make a small admission charge, to cover overtime costs of the FoH staff and stage crew. In London, where previously closed understudy runs are being opened for the first time this season to a wider audience, the understanding was that each run would be under the Equity West End Agreement, which obliges managements to offer understudies a run, if it is practicable, and not to charge invitees.
We were contacted by a member of the company with a provisional allocation of seats for Henry IV, Pt 1 on this basis, and we have now exhausted it. Owing to the run being in London, however, and providing a chance for many of the artists in the company to ask casting directors, agents, families and friends, it is rapidly being filled up. Consequently, the RSC admin has today decided to limit each cast member to four complimentary seats, and to impose a charge for any additional ones. That includes the places we were offered. After some discussion, we have negotiated that these should be at half-price - £5 each instead of £10.
We genuinely regret having to go back on what was previously offered in good faith, and we realise you may not now wish to attend under the changed conditions. If you do, however, you should e-mail our contact, Rob Gilbert, directly to reserve the places you require. Sunny Afternoon - great music set pieces but a bit too long towards the end.

Though it was interesting enough, I didn't think the story was all that worth a full blown musical, basically its about a group of young men being stupid. Some parts of the show seemed shoehorned into the musical to be fair, like the World Cup sequence, which I expect to be the end but there followed a set of solos and duets that felt misplaced and contrived. There was a lot of dance sequences but they all seemed to blend into one. That said you cant knock the Kinks music which is at least pretty good. All the oldies in the theatre seemed impressed, apart from the two miserable bald gents sat next to me.
