+1 from me on that particular sentiment, EJ!ejwrank wrote:Diane has so much to do and so much to think about that she has a pass from me on dieting at the moment.

You are both very kind especially as I haven't been in long from a leaving meal - I had vegetable curry and winter fruit triflePreston1990 wrote:+1 from me on that particular sentiment, EJ!ejwrank wrote:Diane has so much to do and so much to think about that she has a pass from me on dieting at the moment.
I have had new shelving put in my garage so a good sort out will be in order on Sunday (that can be a bit of exercise).

OH has lost 10 kilos in the last 12 months, so not bad, given I'm probably a bad influence.

Well done, Diane! I'm loving the lateral thinking and the "killingtwobirdswithonestoneism" of your shelving idea.Diane65 wrote:I have had new shelving put in my garage so a good sort out will be in order on Sunday (that can be a bit of exercise).
Hi Baty, it would be lovely to have you back on the thread, it's been getting kind of lonely on here of late. It always seems an easier slog if we have more contributors - synergy, mutual support and shared adversity and all that!baty wrote:I have been missing in action from this thread but hope to come back to it in January. My weight has stayed the same just my motivation hit a low. I hope that the new year will get me into a better frame of mind to shift this weight.
Wow, that's fantastic Sunny Saver. Tell him "Well Done" and feel free to share his tips with us on here.Sunny Saver wrote:OH has lost 10 kilos in the last 12 months, so not bad, given I'm probably a bad influence.
I have had a pretty rubbish week dietwise, and have put on another pound.
I'm in a kind of plateau stage now, where the easy initial losses have been made but keeping the weightloss going or even maintaining weight seems really quite difficult. Overall I am pretty pleased with my progress though and will resolve to do better post Christmas. I think EJ is absolutely right to suggest drawing a Hiatus now for the Christmas period
I've still got a few gym classes to go before Christmas. There's Spinning, Abs Blast and Pilates tomorrow. Then Spinning, Aquafit and Yoga on Wednesday.
Can I just take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!

Thank you, behind every successful man, is a stunned wife, so I shall take the compliment :).
I think what changed most for him was a personal trainer, who looked at his diet. He lost quite a lot in the last six weeks, and that was by cutting out carbohydrates, which drove me nuts, but it worked. He was relatively disciplined about snacking - cut out lots of cakes, little less disciplined about cheese and crisps :).
It's funny, as he hates sweet potatoes, avocados, tomatoes, etc stuff recommended by his trainer. BUT he has to eat it now. I laugh at his face every bloody time.
We actually b*ght 10 kilos of rice over the weekend and he said 'this time last year, I was carrying that in excess body weight'.
I think he might put on a few pounds over the next two weeks though!

Re: Weight Watchers
Me too. Actually, I've been MIA from this entire site, from theatre land, from... well, everywhere. Work has been dreadful, but things are getting better and I'm determined to get back to normal. I've also decided enough is enough and I'm now looking to move on. No job is worth sacrificing everything for.baty wrote:I have been missing in action from this thread but hope to come back to it in January.
I've finished my last course of physio and I'd like to get back into running (gradually) in 2016. There is no way I'm doing any running here - this is where I knackered my knee a whole year ago - but when I get back to London, I want to rebuild my fitness until I can do parkrun again.
Have a lovely Christmas, everyone.
I shall see you back here in 2016!

Get in! -1 pound
and that's despite all the chocs, and no gym or fitness classes over Christmas.
Looking forward to a fabulous 2016 on here - will be great to have all the regulars back and hopefully some new folk as well

Re: Weight Watchers
Nice One, Preston!! (or should I say, nice -1!!)
Re: Weight Watchers
Now I hope that doesn't mean that you will be going on a chocolate diet in the New Year, Preston! Well done to lose that pound in spite of all the temptations during Xmas! I am hoping you have given up your Pringle habit and if you have, I would credit that with the weight loss.
Anyway -- you have done extremely well to finish 2015 with such a flourish!
