Did anyone see the 15 year old Lithuanian girl who won gold in the 100m breaststroke? Fantastic swim, beating the favourite by a fraction. Even better was her response when being interviewed: just what you'd expect of a 15 year old girl who just won an Olympic gold. Total bewilderment and one word answers. Fantastic. Hoping things get better for Team GB tomorrow, though the gymnasts did amazingly well! A well deserved Bronze medal.

Sebastian Coe, or rather Lord Coe is chair of LOCOG (the mob organising the 2012 games) and was previously chairman of the one in charge of bidding for them. Before that he was a member of parliament and before that he used to run a bit! (He has just been voted this country's second best Olympian of all time).

Wasn't it? What all the others might be like when they start out but without media training! Her coach was interviewed later and spoke in glowing terms about her and her family.

A little mixed up with your am's and pm's there I think. Any way pxc did you have to p*y on the fast train? Last time I looked at using that you couldn't use travelcards or p*y as you go but had to p*y a separate fare like the Gatwick & Heathrow Express.

Well spotted! I think I got jet lag! Was up at 4am on Sat, 5am Sun and 6am this morning! Have corrected now!
I did not have to p*y as my travel is pa*d for as a Games Maker - but a non-peak return is £7.30. Not sure how much a peak is. And you are correct, you cannot use your travelcard.

pxc, have you tried to queue for those Wimbledon_like "return" tickets?
Is it only in the papers or do they really apply this policy? I am thinking to stay around next Monday after our morning session and see if we can see something else on the spot!

Yes, there are return tickets - there is a ticket box office outside each arena - so for example, if someone left the games before the end of their session, and have their tickets bleeped when they left, then the box office will know that seat is available for anyone who wanted to b*y a ticket for it. So I think it is the same as like at Wimbledon? So it is worth a try, to see if any tickets are available. Good luck!

I saw the swimming last night too, and I thought the same about the Lithuanian girl. The interviewer says "we should adopt her" - as she has been training in Plymouth or was it Portsmouth anyway.

Thanks for that. The Kings X, Stratford Link would save time, but it's not worth p*ying that when I can use my travelcard on the standard route. If I could claim it back it would be different!
