wow look at Preston's tracker, that is fantastic!

I lost 14 lbs, put on 1/2 lb and went nuts for a year or so. 5 custard donughts for 50p? Yep I'm having them and eating them all  . I've not been to the gym for a year or so either.

anyways, I'm back at Slimming World, and taking it slowly. I got Slimmer of the week on my 3rd week  . This week is been a bit bad, I can't resist free stuff. Hopefully I can reign in again this weekend, ready for weigh in on Tuesday.

Hi everyone, I keep telling myself I'll start my diet but each day I still keep eating junk!! Once I get into it I know I'll be ok, but it's the starting it that's tough!

Apparently Preston is not that far from Manchester. Just up the road from you in fact Diane, situated in Lancashire County, North West, England, United Kingdom. Its geographical coordinates are 53° 46' 0" North, 2° 43' 0" West and its original name (with diacritics  ) is Preston. ;) :D https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.7703371,-2.7671916,9z

It's lovely to see this thread coming to life once again. I've missed all you lovely people and the friendly lighthearted yet supportive banter. I'm going bring my tracker thing back up to date, set myself some goals and rejoin the debate. Lets get this party started!!!
I suppose I did ask and deserved that sarcastic response Mr Preston :wall:  ;)

Welcome back and wow aren't we the model man 8-)

Welcome back also to the lovely Valda and well done on being slimmer of the week. I too can't resist free stuff and I don't do waste. My neighbour has given me 11lb of apples from his trees yesterday so I had a cooking evening yesterday I have made apple crumbles, apple muffins and apple sauce and still have loads left - luckily my next door neighbour had guests last night so I gave a lot away but by doing so they invited me in while they ate the warm muffins and I ended up with a glass of prosecco
The same neighbour gave me a pile of plums last weekend so I made plum jam, crumble and https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 3435,d.d24 luckily once again my next door neighbour came to the rescue along with another 6 friends so I could give tons away but I still have about 4 portions of the dessert left (I can't resist it  ) along with a plum crumble.
I am looking after the neighbours green house and garden while they are away and I have been told to help myself to the tomatoes and any fruit on the trees. This is my problem I cannot see food go to waste, I have generous neighbours plus I love cooking.

I am with you Clarebarr I am not in the zone at all and with this temptation around I keep on eating it all.

Good Morning everyone!! :D

Well I've now brought myself up to speed with all the postings on the Weightwatchers thread I've missed since I was last regularly visiting in Jan 2016. It would seem that a lot of us bailed at the same time. I think that it's great that quite a few of us have returned to give it another go. It would be nice if we could tempt others to join in - old and new.

I've brought my weight loss record up to date now only to find that in the 9 months that I've been away (ie Jan to Sept 2016) I have lost the magnificent total of 3 whole pounds overall  Not a fantastic achievement in all that time I'm sure you'll agree. So whilst my tracker thing may look quite impressive (and thanks for that Valda o/ ), its more a testament to past achievements rather than anything that has been going on in recent times. Nevertheless, my original targets remain valid and uncompleted, so they are what I'll be striving towards once again with renewed vigour. I'm hoping that with the support, camaraderie, encouragement and the healthy dose of teasing which will undoubtedly be forthcoming from this forum, I'll be edging ever closer to my target of BMI 25 over the coming months.

With that in mind I'm off to my local leisure centre soon to do my three regular Monday classes: Studio Cycling (AKA Spinning) 08:45, Body Combat 09:30, Body Pump 10:30. They are exhausting but great calorie burners.

I just wanted to say well done to Valda for that impressive weightloss and for being chosen as slimmer of the week.

Lovely to see that ClareBarr has come back to this forum once again and nice to hear that a stressful period in her life has now come to an end. Why not make now the time you restart your healthy eating regime.

I'm thinking that we can both make a start along with my old chum Diane and get some special FMUK collective mutual support going.

Well done Diane on starting the fitness routines once again - I'm sure that everytime you do them they will become easier.

I'd also like to say a big friendly hello to my good friend EJ :bighug:

I love body combat and body pump. But, everytime I want to go, I get leg problems or knee problems

Wow that's a lot of exercise Preston1990. I am suitably impressed
That's annoying Valda your favourite workout giving you knee pain.

I am working 8 until 7 today so my plan of action was to try and fit in a walk at lunchtime. Stupidly as I took my neighbours to the airport on Saturday I emptied my boot and have forgotten to put my coat back in :wall: I am not allowed out in my uniform so apart from playing musical chairs in the waiting room I am stumped for exercising - naffed off with myself. Don't worry I am not really going to play musical chairs on my own the patients would think that I was deranged.

I might go for a walk after my dinner tonight if I have time ;)

I have now all but given up the gym altogether in favour of organised instructor led fitness classes - I now do around 22 each week. I know that that is a lot but I find it does keep my weight quite stable and allows me to eat pretty much what I want without doing too much damage.

Of course, the real trick would be to combine the exercise with some proper control over my food intake. I think the result of my 9 months absence from FMUK WWs speaks for itself in that despite this level of exercise I have been doing I have only lost 3 pounds overall.

Sadly, I tend to overindulge regularly - a favourite snack at the moment being a slice of Waitrose chocolate cake enrobed with a large spoonful each of Häagen-Dazs Vanilla and Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Salted Caramel ice cream. I like to include a pair of strawberries on top, as I like to think that when prepared with fresh fruit in this way, it can legitimately be counted as one of your five a day.

Here's a photo (once I remember how to upload it) of one which I prepared earlier for today's afternoon snack...

Diane, I'm quite shocked to learn that you would consider going for a lunchtime walk wearing nothing under your coat :red: 8O :jawdrop:

I'm sure you'll manage to fit your evening walk in - suitably attired though, I hope. :cross:

Good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow Valda :cross: I'm going to do my weigh-ins on Mondays starting from next week. I hope you will join in with me ClareBarr. o/

Weigh in today and another 2lbs lost. this is quite amazing, considering how bad I was last week! I'm still trying to do my 10,000 steps a day, well 5 days I can manage it, then it all goes wrong on the weekend, when I lay around on my Chaise Long all day :shifty: .

So I've come to realise my downfall is Free Stuff. If I go to a Multi Media screenig with free booze and snacks, I dig right in. Same with a lunch meeting or a leaving do with free bubbly. Cakes and Chocolate, I'm not too bad with. If I don't have it in the house, I can't eat it. Takeaways are another thing, so I make sure I walk home, where there are no temptations.

My George foreman Grill is a help, although, everything I've grilled so far, looks and tastes like carpet. I still need to sort out timings with it.

over and out vx
