A little mixed up with your am's and pm's there I think. Any way pxc did you have to p*y on the fast train? Last time I looked at using that you couldn't use travelcards or p*y as you go but had to p*y a separate fare like the Gatwick & Heathrow Express.

Well spotted! I think I got jet lag! Was up at 4am on Sat, 5am Sun and 6am this morning! Have corrected now!
I did not have to p*y as my travel is pa*d for as a Games Maker - but a non-peak return is £7.30. Not sure how much a peak is. And you are correct, you cannot use your travelcard.

Thanks for that. The Kings X, Stratford Link would save time, but it's not worth p*ying that when I can use my travelcard on the standard route. If I could claim it back it would be different!

The overground to Stratford is a lot cheaper too as it does not go into Zone 1 and you can use your travelcard.
Yes, that is the only perk we get for volunteering - we have to be on our feet for 9.5 hours with only two half an hour breaks, and some times only one, if they forget about you, or we are short staffed, and keep smiling all day!

Well I have to say that all the volunteers that I have encountered when there have indeed kept smiling. They have also been exceptionally polite and friendly - a real credit to the games.

I went to the Olympic Table Tennis today and I too was very pleased to see so many smiles from the volunteers. Table tennis was crazy, sometimes they smashed it so hard that the other player had to take about four steps back! Definitely a sport that you wouldn't expect to be so entertaining.

Yes bravo to the volunteers! I was in Bank station on Saturday coming back from Brave and trying to find the right exit (always a problem for me that Bank station) and there were two people offering to help me!

pxc, have you tried to queue for those Wimbledon_like "return" tickets?
Is it only in the papers or do they really apply this policy? I am thinking to stay around next Monday after our morning session and see if we can see something else on the spot!

Yes, there are return tickets - there is a ticket box office outside each arena - so for example, if someone left the games before the end of their session, and have their tickets bleeped when they left, then the box office will know that seat is available for anyone who wanted to b*y a ticket for it. So I think it is the same as like at Wimbledon? So it is worth a try, to see if any tickets are available. Good luck!

I love watching the diving, but it did make me sick yesterday seeing the height they dive from. It's bad enough being up there, but having to walk to the edge then dive!!! If you put me up there I'd crawl to the edge and pee myself, the pool water would turn pink.
