Re: Weight Watchers
I just posted before but neglected to say it
it's now been a week and I need to get weighed.
I've climbed on the scales and shyly looked down
Oh get in! Woohoo! I've lost one more pound.
With that other pound lost (from the other day)
My week's total is two. O Callooh! O Callay!”

Re: Weight Watchers
Well done Preston1990 that is brilliant.
I too have lost 2lb this week but had a busy week so ran out of time to do much exercise - I did a brisk 1 mile walk at lunchtime on Friday.
Clarebarr I too have over 2 stone to lose although polar opposite reasons for not exercising it still results in the same situation. We can all do it together.
Asamaic I really want to thank you for the suggestion of changing the times I eat. The breakfast at work gives me such a relaxing start to my day.
I will try and get into the poetic zone. I have such an analytical brain that my creative side is decidedly lacking (I am seriously boring

Re: Weight Watchers
Diane65 you are never boring! And creativity -- well it could be your middle name. The amount you cram into your days calls for a very creative mind.
Very glad to hear from ClareBarr and very much hope you will be inspired by those in the know here -- afraid I am a mere bystander (bysitter???) when it comes to exercise. And the only weight I've lost is in the past 5 days because of illness.

Re: Weight Watchers
Very well done on losing that 2lb Diane
and also for managing to fit a brisk walk into your hectic schedule.
Sorry to hear that you've not been well recently EJ. I wish you a speedy recovery.
I skipped breakfast today
and I've done fitness classes from 07:30 throughout the morning. 45 mins of Spinning, 15 mins of Abs Blast, 60 mins of Pilates and 45 mins of Body Attack. Oh yes, and then I went for a black coffee and a chat at the local café with some leisure centre pals, then once we'd put the world to rights, I came back home for lunch. I rustled up a chicken and vegetable stir fry with egg noodles and soy sauce. Pretty healthy, but then I spoiled it all by having a slab of caramel cake and three shortcake biscuits straight afterwards
Idiot!!
Never mind I'll offset those naughty excess unnecessary calories by working extra hard in tonight's spinning class.
Still finding some of the exercising mega tough after my membership lapse break, especially the "legs in the air" pilates elements which seem to exacerbate, rather than help, my lower back disc problem these days.
keep being good everyone and fill up with lots of lovely water.

Just a minute
None of this rhymes!

Re: Weight Watchers
Boo!
Nice to see everyone (and...hey I know you guys! lol) and you all looking vibrant from your dazzling posts of progress and advice. Diane, thanks for tapping me on my shoulder. I'm not a frequent internet person full stop these days but will try pop in here to share all your good vibe :)
I'm heading off to a squash league match in a few minutes. I was in Division one but dropped down to division two and lost all my games so far!
Must be because I have become more unfit again :) There is a correlation...and it aint to do with age. There is a 60 year old playing in division one...so no excuses!
After the squash game I'll do some resistance work. Squash acts as a very good interval training cardio session, (ie steady heart rate cardio with intervals of short bursts of high intensity).
a 15 minute intervals training sessions (for example a steady run but every 2 minutes, do a 20 seconds sprint) is far more effective as a fat burner than doing a steady run for one hour because the heart does more work not just during the session but also for the rest of the day and night. The more work, the heart has to do (within your healthy heart rate range for your age group) the more fuel need to burn...and happily that fuel is the fat in our body.
Preston, you seem to have it all sussed! Youre awesome
OK gotta dash and try win my first game this year!

I bloody lost, again. You lot supposed to make me win, useless!

A i gave it all I got but its all down to fitness. Fitness, just doesnt mean endurance and faster running around the court but it also helps maintain precision in shots.
I didnt do resistance after the game , so ill do it tomorrow, then watch a cinema movie afterwards as a reward then a friendly squash game on thursday.
EJ hope you feeling better.
Keep it up everyone, very inspiring!

Well, Hail, Hail, The Gang's all Here. Diane has worked her creative genius and got Mr Glass back on here. Better luck on the next squash match -- the more you play, the fitter you'll get. Just hang in there, Mr G.
And enjoyed that orange/squash joke, Preston. I remember when I drank my first glass of squash (in the hospital in the UK in 1977 as the stuff didn't exist in the USA). The woman who offered it to me didn't tell me I needed to dilute it. I nearly choked to death after surviving some pretty serious surgery! Never touched the stuff since!

Re: Weight Watchers
I haven't run since before Christmas... Have committed to running this Saturday as I know the tail runner. Assuming we don't have any walkers (i.e. even slower people!), it'll be the two of us running together which will be nice. I guess. I really don't want to run... Need to get back into the swing of it though or my feet will forget how to move!
Sorry to hear you've been unwell recently, ejwrank. Hope you're feeling better or at least are on the mend!
Good to see all the WWers back together.
