Thanks so much to everyone for all the information and stunning pictures. I'll get a guide book/map and plan a sort of itinerary to get as much out of my time as possible.

In which case you'll love it Diane! I loved walking down the street and seeing what looked like a kind of ruin on the side of a street that wasn't labelled etc just because it was a more run of the mill one! Part of the beauty of Rome, I thought! Am somewhat envious!

I'm off to Ireland this evening. And need some help
My cousin has asked me to bring something (like food or sweets etc). That he cant get in Ireland. Any thoughts??

Do they get square sausage?

In Scotland we do get square sausage and that is a delocacy which is often taken/requested! :rolleyes:

So I am going to NYC next month for OH's birthday so am wondering what things/activities I should really do. Plus any good diners and maybe a restaurant. I know there is free previews and get theatre tickets on the day. We are staying in Hotel Grand Union which is centrally situated only two blocks from the Empire State Building, four blocks from Macy's and major shopping areas. Also the cheaper the better.

OH has asked what I like to do whilst I am over there but I am pretty content as long as I get fed. Easily pleased I am.
