I've just finished reading 'Kill/Off' a punchy action-thriller from John F. D. Taff that's more than a cut above most of its two-dimensional contemporaries!

Rather appropriately, I'm reading the Mark Kermode book about multiplexes, which has been mentioned here before. He probably speaks for many of us here in saying what he finds wrong with cinemas, distribution, films, etc, these days, though I think the book would have benefited from some editing.

Just about half way through The Hangmans Daughter. Cracking read so far

Enjoyed the latest Elizabeth Jane Howard (an unexpected 5th book in the Cazalet Chronicles, which had long looked like a quartet) just before she died and, feeling bereft of such a good writer, was encouraged to hear that William Nicholson (who has some fans here but may be better known to some as a screenwriter) has a new novel coming out soon - Reckless.

I will be moving in a few months, and have quite a few books in the loft that I would like to get rid of (I have a kindle so don't really use books anymore). I don't expect any money from them, but would be willing to give them away free if people wanted to read them.

I know that Oxfam have these particular book shops that I can donate to....... but I'm not sure where else to look at.

Any ideas would be greatful.

I've been working my way through the Spook's series in preparation for the Seventh Son film coming out starring Jeff Bridges as the Spook, its very dark and gripping! Hoing the film is more of the same and not pussied down for children!

You can donate books to just about every charity shop in your area or advertise on your local freecycle group.

Alternatively, I am an avid reader myself and if you don't live too far away from me in East London, I wouldn't mind having a few if they are easy chick lit reads by any chance.

Yeah I've donated to Charity before, but thought I'd try something different.

I am venturing up in the loft at the weekend, so I will take stock of exactly what I have. I believe there may be a few chick lit ones yes, others are more underground gangsteryfied like Martina Cole etc. I'll DM you once I've take an look :-)
