OH has asked what I like to do whilst I am over there but I am pretty content as long as I get fed. Easily pleased I am.
Great location, you can walk to a lot of things. Central Park was one my personal highlights; amazing. Museums such as the Met and MoMa are free on specific nights (if I remember correctly it's Thursday nights) and so is the ferry from which you can see the Statue of Liberty. Times Square is really busy, but a must to snap some touristy shots. And of course Broadway *sighs happily* Currently the most popular show is Book of Mormon (they have a lottery for tickets in the morning), but personally would also really love to see How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Once the Musical. Have fun!!

Yinster...so much to say about this fabulous city. First thing you could do would be to head up to the Empire State and go and the simulator ride which takes you across the city in a virtual helicopter to all the best sights. Its great to set you up for all the top spots. We were there for 10 days and visited every single one and then some!!

We stayed in a hotel on East 31st street and i really wish i could remember the name of the diner we went to every morning for breakfast just up the road from it as it was lovely. One diner i do remember near broadway was Ellen's diner, it had a train track all the way around the walls and the waiters and waitresses all sang the popular broadway songs, a very entertaining eat!!

If you're going to The Met the Robert Lehman Collection is fantastic and the American wing is worth a visit. The Guggenhein was a highlight, especially Solomon's collection of Degas, Van Gough, Picasso, Renoir and Toulouse!

If you can't face the queues at the Statue of Liberty another way to see it is to take the Staten island ferry, you'll get better photos from a distance. We went to Snug Harbour which was a spirialing estate with beautiful gardens and the shopping malls were less crowded.

An absolute must is to go to a gosple Sunday service down in Harlem. All the more well known churches were full but we met an old man walking down to his church and he invited us down there with him. It was called the Gospel Spreading Church of God 220 West 145th Street, NY 10039. We met a wonderful woman called Bee there and she invited us to stay for dinner at the church afterwards then up to her home for coffee. We met up with her a few times afterwards and were even going to go to the Apollo Theatre with her but we had to leave a day early because of a family emergency :Embarrassed:

Another way to really experience the fame and fortune close at hand would be to get into the audience of one of the TV shows. We were in the audience of Good Morning America and saw Casey Affleck being interviewed and Mark Cohn was playing that mroning...it was so exciting!! You have to email beforehand to get on the list but its well worth getting up at 4 in the morning. I'm sorry i don't have the details but my travelling companion organised it for us.

Central park is best seen by bike and there is plenty places to hire one, a boat ride is a must!!

Shopping wise Century 21 and Steve and Bennys had all i wanted at discount prices.

As you can probably tell, its one of the best holidays i've ever had. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did :D

If ur lOoking for shopping bargains. There is century 21 near ground zero (but just to warn u it is like tk maxx ! So If u are like me i hate it and can't find anything there. Avoid it)
Otherwise I would recommend Woodbury common. I got some great bargains there. It's about an hour on a bus from the main station.

Got to agree that Century 21 is a bit of a disappointment and that Woodbury Common is awesome! I told Yinster about that one and I think they might be going! Yay! (Jealous, moi?!)
