I'm going to LA 7 weeks today! Finally a HOLIDAY! wwooooop!

I miss those types of holidays. I liked ny but preferred Boston! Would move there tomorrow if I could.

Just booked my first family holiday to Tenerife. Had to p*y for a crèche so that I could have a couple of hours to lounge around

I tell you peeps, I walked my socks off...... my legs are only just recovering!!!!!
Our Hotel (Hotel Flavia on Via Flavia) hadnt been given the greatest of reviews on Trip Advisor but it was perfectly placed for us to see all the sights that Rome held. We were only about 10-15 mins away from The Trevi Fountain which is astonishingly beautiful and The Spanish Steps. We walked to the Colosseum and all around it, but unfortunately due to the bad weather they had had over the past week, it was still very icey and for people's safety, they kept it closed, which was a shame but understandable.

We were so lucky with the weather, whilst it was snowing when we landed late Saturday afternoon. Sunday - Tuesday was bright blue skys and sunshine.... altho I must admit it still was very cold! At one stage we were sitting outside a cafe having a drink on Monday with just our jumpers on. Would love to visit again in the Summer.

The Vatican and St Peters Square was a sight! I took people's advice and b*ght my Vatican tickets online before we went. €15 plus €4 each booking fee. The museums were fascinating and if you are going to Rome I would certainly take time to visit. We didnt go in each and every one as we would've been there hours (we spent 2 hours in there anyway). The ceilings on the rooms and corridors were just amazing. The Sistine Chapel in itself is glorious, but because you had so many people in there at one time, it kinda lost its appeal a little.

Rome is a little pricey but you can eat very cheaply if you look around. The beer over there is Peroni (which is expensive over here anyway) and generally cost €5 for a medium glass (just under a pint). Wine was cheaper and if you went for the house wine you could get 1L for around €7. You will never want to eat a Donimo or Pizza Hut pizza again once you've had one in Italy. Sooooooooo tasty!!! The pasta is amazing too, the only thing I didnt try was the Ice Cream..... it was too damn cold!

If anyone else is planning on going, I have a home made map which shows all the sights (it matches the ones you get from the hotels too which I was very pleased at myself about ) should you want to have a copy!

Anything else you want to know, ask away and I'll give as much details as I can.

All in all, I would deffo recommend Rome for a city break.

My parents are going to Rome next week, should they b*y tickets for the Vatican before they go?

I am looking for cheap but nice accomodation in Brighton. Does anyone have any suggestions? 2 people and would prefer B&B if cheaper.
