Re: Christmas
Well, I went to the Regent Street Christmas Lights Switch On last night and thought it was quite good fun. Heard the West End Gospel Choir perform Christmas songs, then the Thriller Live cast performed a bit (Meh), an X Factor guy (Matt Cardle?) and finally Kelly Clarkson. Was a bit disappointed she didn't do Christmas songs (I LOVE her rendition of O Holy Night) but it was still great to see her perform as I hadn't seen her before and I really like her music. Then Bill Nighy and Ashley Jensen came on stage and together with the presenters (Emma Bunton and some other guy) and Matt and Kelly they pulled the lever to turn on the lights. And then there was fireworks!! There was a technical problem with part of the lights (near Oxford Circus) not turning on, but.... fireworks!!

Re: Christmas
"the other guy" was Jamie Theakston, he's the Heart Breakfast DJ
I actually thought the Thriller guys were not bad! Clarkson and Cardle are definitely not my cup of tea; I thought the atmosphere was quite shit (at least where I was) but the fireworks were a good surprise
we went to Carnaby street before and I am looking forward to the switching on there! Very very Christmasy lights for once

Re: Christmas
I was joking to funthing about wanting fireworks but didn't think it'd actual happen (as she rightly so pointed out the buildings are so close together there) so it was a nice surprise!
The atmosphere was fine where I stood (smackdown in the middle of the crowd) but then I was also busy filming so didn't p*y a whole lot of attention. When is the Carnaby Switch on? Thursday?

Re: Christmas
I'll Google the times later and see if I can make it after work. *hopes for more fireworks*
PS the only reason I said "meh" regarding Thriller Live is because I've seen them before quite a few times at events now (West End Live the last few years for one) and it's not my cup of tea. Talented people though.

Re: Christmas
I will be delivering some early Christmas presents later today. I feel so organised and in control. How I love lists - especially at Christmas.
