The Dark Knight Rises
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Loved the film. Worth the hype in my opinion and can't think of a more well rounded trilogy.

I clapped too. I've done so at many screenings. Its not about whether the makers can appreciate our applause, they obviously cant. Its more about sharing your feelings with fellow appreciators in the audience. Its that sharing of the experience, that reminds me why I love going to the cinema. So dont knock them...us :)

och, good one, MrG!
I'm not picturing you as Harriet Harman.
Make it Catwoman, to remain topical.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
OMG!! Loved the film!!!
Going in I was open minded as I hate seeing hyped up films that usually fail to impress - but I thought this was worthy of the praise and more! Reading some of the reviews I see people thought the music was too overpowering - but I personally think it was perfect and especially towards the end as it added to the intensity of what was happening on screen and the huge set pieces.
Definately think Catwoman was the stand out performance for me. Having only seen Hathaway in a few films before (mostly to do with being a princess), wasn't sure how she would outdo or live up to Michelle Pfeiffer's version, but I thought she was perfect, witty and smart and believable when kicking ass!
Can't believe Alfred got a tear out of me though!!!
Brilliant!!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Well not much to add after reading all these posts about the film.
However as Stuartboy said Edinburgh film screening was disappointing, in that we arrived before 6 for 6.15 for 7.15 all expecting premiere hook up or at least something. No hook up , no freebies eg. popcorn or mag and worst of all no light............. could not even read cineworld mag as too dark. I like Stuartboy and the other fmukers I know had left my phone at home/in the car, so could not look at that or put on the torch to read my mag. Cinema only about 75% full. Radio forth winners seats reserved and they came in about 7.15.
i had gone to ask when the film was starting and was told 7.15 with trailers to follow. But no trailers. They said Showfilmfirst had asked for early doors open but was sky screening.
Cinema said expected it to be full but bad weather put folks off.
Enjoyed film, think Christian Bale best Batman!! Have not been well since I left the Cinema though. Still got ringing in my ears and coughed until 2.30 this morning. No air conditioning on and far too loud in bits.
Notwithstanding after effects really enjoyed film.
Shame lots of us folks got caught with the parking charge afterwards as we were at the cinema for more than 4 hours.
