Big crime thriller fan so was given a couple of Norwegian thrillers for my birthday.Have finally started the first one, Cold Hearts by Gunnar Staalesen. Ok so far. On cover it says Now A Major Motion Picture. IMdb has it out in 2012 so guess its was only a major motion picture in Norway as don't remember it being out here. At least not in Edinburgh.

I've not long finished 'Dead of Winter' by Brian Moreland.

This is a pretty full on horror that includes what many may consider to be well-defined sub-genres of horror; but it works!

My review here:
2012 Free Films: John Carter, The Cabin in the Woods, Snow White and The Huntsman, Lawless.

Joined FMUK: March 2013

2013 Free Films: Robot & Frank, Olympus Has Fallen, Maniac, Evil Dead, Oblivion, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Behind the Candelabra, Everybody has a Plan, This is the End, The Internship, Citadel, Pain & Gain, We're the Millers, You're Next, Rush, How I Live Now.

2014 Free Films: Locke, Chef, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Fury, The Drop, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.

2016 Free Films: Anthropoid, I,Daniel Blake.

Hi all,

This may only appeal to some but thought it best to share anyway!

Blinkbox from Tesco now have an online bookstore with a fairly limited selection. However, for every ebook you b*y, you get 100 Tesco clubcard points. Although on the face of it that's only £1 off, those familiar with the clubcard scheme know the points can be worth a lot more when traded in for various things.

You may have to hunt for something decent but Stephen King's 'Doctor Sleep' is currently £3.49, which is the same price as Amazon. Factoring in the clubcard points brings that down to £2.49 and obviously even less if the points are traded in for something of greater value!

Hope this is of some use!

Finally finished it this week. Interesting plot I thought about human population and the issue of resources to accommodate them. An easy read 8/10.

"Elizabeth is Missing" by Emma Healey.
I got it out from the library and finished it in two days. I think it very accurately portrays dementia from a dementia sufferer's point of view which makes it very poignant and sad to see how Maud is treated by the people around her - some well-meaning, some mean and some plain not understanding. It's also a kind of detective story that fits in brilliantly with the rest - Maud isn't quite sure what's going on anymore but she knows one thing for certain: someone is missing, and she has to delve into her past to try and make sense of it. It's a fascinating read, quite sad too.
I would recommend it to anyone, whether you're interested in reading about dementia or not.
