See, it wasn't all in vain! LOL, thanks for the helpful arrow! I once took a picture of the Queen too, she wore blue then.

Octopus wrote:I am so stupid. I left work and arrived at Bermondsey thinking "well it's raining too much, I'm just gonna head home". Once home I turned on the TV and saw the Royal Family at Tower Bridge... which is literally 5min walk from my place. So I decided to go there and arrived when the queen left. HA.
But still, it was quite nice, even though cold and wet. Yes, it's boring but it's a thing we see once in a lifetime so I figured I would rather go there instead of watching on TV what was happening 5min from home - and I managed to took a picture of the Queen...:

Well done Octopus! I went down to the Embankment this morning but was not early enough and it was already full, and they sent everyone further down towards Somerset House, and that was also full, I should have caught the tube down to Tower Hill by the sounds of it!

Obviously I had to watch the event on tv as too far away. Shame about the weather particularly as many people would have been outside all day. However, those who braved it looked as they had a great day. I particularly loved the stoicism of the choir on Symphony. They'd probably spent hours choosing their outfits and doing their hair . . .and they ended up like drowned rats. . . but they kept singing. That's the British spirit! Hope weather better for concert tomorrow! :cross:

Shame so many people didn't make it to the river, including myself. In the end no queen, no boats, didn't even see any water but went to a lovely street party at Leadenhall Market. They did make an announcement on the underground that all the viewing sites were full.

Flipping heck, we are just getting the pageant all over again in the opposite direction. I guess some of the boats moored upstream somewhere last night and are now going back home.

All in all it seems like a typical British Bank Holiday weekend to me, albeit longer than usual: c**p weather, nothing worth doing, OH also mouldering at home, etc. Roll on Wednesday and the resumption of normal service!

All too much for poor Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh has been taken to hospial with a bladder infection & will miss tonights concert. Such a shame I thought he looked amazing for his age yesterday & like he was really enjoying it.
