Re: Gravity
Saw this in Glasgow Renfrew Street (nice to be able to add another cinema to my list across the UK XD) yesterday and it was better than I had expected.
The first 10 minutes or so the 3D actually didn't work (kept taking my glasses on and off to check I and I even though for a while that the 3D was just absolute rubbish) until a sort of filter came over the screen to make the image much more crisp and sort of 3D. Generally I didn't think the 3D was amazing I had expected but it added some value at times.
Sandra Bullock was very good, didn't think she'd be in this kind of role, and so was George (of course). There were some things that seemed unrealistic/out of place to me but overall it was quite impressive.
7.5/10

Re: Gravity
I really loved this film!
My favourite part of the whole film was the sense of realism. Great Visual Effects, mixed with fantastic cinematography made the film what it is!
The 3D was good, and I felt it did enhance the experience, but it would probably be very good in 2D.
The acting was brilliant, I think Sandra Bullock is an incredible actress, she can play so many roles and her character is completely believable!
Lastly, Alfonso Cuarón is just a genius! Such a powerful film on such a huge scale. definitely need to see it in IMAX!

Finally, someone on FMUK with as much enthusiasm for this film as me (see my earlier post in this thread). Absolutely incredible film, easily best of the year so far for me and right up there in my all time top 10.LondonCityNights wrote:The more I think about this film the more I absolutely LOVE it. Re: Gravity
WIQ was full but not oversubscribed and I got the bloke next to us to take all his rubbish off the seat next to him and let us move closer into the middle. I thought after they'd stolen our favourite seats that's the least they could do! They might have been there before us but why they had to sweet-talk their way into the screening room while everyone else was still outside is beyond me. I hate it anyway when people leave seats inbetween themselves and others.
I think almost everyone so far has said "visually stunning" and I couldn't agree more, though something was wrong with the 3D in the first few minutes. I won't pretend to understand all they did with hopping between space stations etc. but it was quite gripping nevertheless.
8/10
It was lovely to see PXC and tsoiboy, and thanks for the donuts!

Re: Gravity
mind you sometimes its the people who come in after you who leave the gaps around you. Add then you get the funny looks from the dippos who see you there and who think you left the gaps.Beate wrote:beyond me. I hate it anyway when people leave seats inbetween themselves and others.

Re: Gravity
That was one of the reasons I asked to move as the couple to our left had also left a gap - so now we had a two seat gap which no one could moan about!
