Re: Snow
I got to work at 7.20am this morning 40mins before I'm due in then no patients turned up until 10am. This afternoon I had the pleasure of doing home visits on foot for 4 hours and yes us NHS workers do have to see the urgent patients no matter what! I'm very jealous of everyone with the heat, I've still no hot water or central heating
but my car has just been returned with a new battery
so got to take my mothers back to hers then a nice 1 mile walk back then go to my friends to collect my daughter who has just gone to have a shower there! How did people cope before central heating and hot water
I can't get to the pictures tonight and it will probably be 8 before I get back to my cold house. Sorry for moaning

Re: Snow
You deserve a good moan, Diane. We'd all be complaining if we were in your shoes today. I hope they are waterproof and that your feet aren't too wet. The snow is fairly deep here now. I will need to wear wellingtons as snow will get into any shoes I have. My wellingtons are conveniently situated in the boot of my car, so we all know who will have wet feet in the morning before she can even attempt to get to work.

Re: Snow
Survived another treacherous trip down the icy hill - with lots of luck I imagine. Diane what an awful day you had yesterday! Hope it's not so bad today. It's stopped snowing round this way, but it's all icy now. No one has gritted near my home (odd considering I live next door to a school) or even properly gritted the roads off Russell Square. The pavements are pure ice...

Thanks everyone for being so supportive, the plumber is so busy and has ordered a new boiler and it's being fitted on Saturday it's nearly 20 years old(he's giving priority to the vulnerable), only 2 more nights to go sleeping in sleeping bags under the quilts
. Not one patient turned up this morning and just 1 this afternoon, I wish they would phone to say they aren't coming
Managed to do a couple of visits with the aid of my walking poles so getting a work-out while I work. Had a shower at work today and I'm at the same clinic tomorrow (the one with a shower) so that makes life so easy
