The Last Airbender
Re: The Last Airbender
Have to admit I'm curious to see just how bad it is... plus it's an excuse to drag the man round the Trafford Centre afterwards

Great graph, but for me his best film is Unbreakable by a mile. Superb movie, much underrated. Of course, after that the films are the same level of atrocious I think.elski wrote:LOL did you see the graph I posted few pages back? it all depends if you agree if he's been on a downward slide since Sixth Sense

But I just cant fathom what the hell has happened to my once favourite "promising" director from Lady and the Water onwards. He has completely lost the frigin plot, literally...its heart breaking and tragic to see this incredible decline in talent at search an early stage in his career. I mean all directors burn out and lose their magic but at least they still remain competetant film makers. Night is fast becoming an Ed Wood of the moder age, bizarre.
Rumours have it that he will team up with Willis once again in a new shrouded secrecy project...delusional I maybe but I still hope Night will find that magic once again, maybe Willis will help. Maybe Night's decline may result in making....Unbreakable 2! Part of me wants to see an Unbreakable Man movie but another part of me wants the original to remain sacred and independant.
I maybe stubborn but I still have faith that one day we will have the return of a brilliant Night. In case no one realised, my username and avatar is from Unbreakable :)

Yeah, despite his awful form I'd still want to see an Unbreakable sequel. I heard the original was always intended to be the first in a trilogy. If he had planned it all down to a tee back then when he was a talented storyteller, maybe, just maybe it'll end up being good.

I sent the kids to see this, and they are fans of the last airbender series, so lets see what they say.
Re: The Last Airbender
ha ha it WASN'T terrible afterall! Well the acting wasn't great and the 3d was very poor, would've prefered it without actually and thanks to sadsack2 forgetting his bus pass we got there just as film started but still managed to bag premier seats-win. But the scenery was nice. I was thinking oh my this is gonna be a long film when it suddenly ended, I didn't realise it was a 2 parter. Would I watch it again? No. Would I watch part 2, probably if it was free. Given that I was so stressed over the bus pass/surly-slow child incident and was relieved just to get a seat I'm letting the boys score this and they give it 6.75/10.

Re: The Last Airbender
Just back from seeing this, and it was actually not too shabby! Having watched the cartoon series I have to admit this was a good film adaptation. I had high expectations of the 3D and was let down, they had sooooo much that could have blown us away. But it wasn't embraced. I would prob give this a hearty 7/10 (more if the 3D was used to its best)
