Men following around 2.30pm (apparently Bradley Wiggins goes at 3.07pm) . Women are doing 29km - should take winner just under 40 minutes

I have a new found respect for the rowing event ever since Matthew Pinsent (ex-GB rowing olympian and 4 time gold winner) gave a motivational speech at one of our corporate functions describing the intensity of the actual event. The vividness of going into tunnel vision and having his mind literally black out for the last 10 strokes was nothing short of staggering. I knew training for the Olympics was hard but nothing prepared me for the sheer commitment, dedication and torture these guys put themselves through. I was absolutely riveted for the entire duration of his talk.

If you ever have an opportunity to hear him speak, please please please don't miss it.
Trust me, you will not regret it nor will you ever forget it.
