Re: 50/50
I had no idea Seth Rogen wrote for 'Da Ali G Show'. Respek!
From Wikipedia: After landing a job as a staff writer on the final season of Da Ali G Show, for which Rogen and the other writers received an Emmy nomination, he was guided by film producer Judd Apatow toward a film career.

I saw this last night and although I kind of knew what it was about I wasn't too sure what to expect really.
I laughed a fair bit mainly at the almost crude comments (ok they were crude, but funny). i thought the gf was an utter bitch and i'm glad he told her to f off.
anna kendrick was ok in this, i kept thinking how pretty she is though and that her and j.g.l made a really cute couple and would make excellent little actor babies. (my mind does wander sometimes)
Talking of JGL he was brilliant in this role. I've liked him a lot even since he was in 10 Things I Hate About You. His breakdown, for want of a better word, in the car was brilliant - and i was a little bit puzzled by the people around me who were laughing. perhaps a defnense mechanism to stop themselves blubbing. i did shed a tear at this point.
the mother, although she wasn't in it much really made me feel emotional too, i'm not sure why exactly but she just had such great onscreen chemistry with JGL that it gave me a lump in my throat.
Overall I qould say it was a good film, but it's quite depressing and I wouldn't wish to have pa*d to see it in the cinema.

That's not very helpful, it is the same day as their other Sky screening?

That's not a good enough reason to miss a beautiful film. Which cinema were you going to? If it's WIQ, you can join us.

Thanks for the offer but i'm probably not going to be able to see anything for the next week or so. Hopefully i can win some vouchers and see it once its released, which'll be better as the screens won't be full either.Beate wrote:That's not a good enough reason to miss a beautiful film.
