So did I, and you're right, the band no longer exists in it's previous format. I think I was hoping that they would still be amazing, (y'nno festival atmosphere and all that) but having just read a review of a gig they played in the U.S on friday, perhaps it would be better if they did cancel Leeds and Reading and leave people to their nostalgic memories of the band. Apparently, GnR didn't take to the stage until nearly 2 hours after the last support act had gone off at 11pm. By that time many people had gone home and some of those that stayed, resorted to throwing what ever they could find at the stage.

I agree with that too.
However, I can't judge their performance since I have not seen them live. I hope you (jordsmum) have a great time

Oh no! I hope that you do manage to see the gig and that you have a great time.

I went to the Reading festival last year after being fortunate to win weekend tickets. But I didn't fancy it this time as I'm not into heavy rock music. I did enjoy some Guns 'n Roses songs when I was younger, but I was surprised to discover that they were still performing.
I can imagine how annoyed people would have been after being made to wait for two hours before the band even came on. I assume that any liquid resembling apple juice in the bottles that were thrown on stage was actually something else!
Going to a completely different extreme............I went to my first Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall last night, and it was fab. I queued for a £5 day ticket for the gallery, and loved the relaxed atmosphere up there. Some people came prepared, and lay on the floor with their heads on cushions! I was able to look down on everyone in the orchestra, which was fascinating. It was a great evening.

Oh I just heard the new song with Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, isn't it a little weak?
EDIT: I better start digging a hole to hide from the Take That fans onslaught....

I got quite annoyed today about something a work colleague told me. He said he knows this bloke who forwards him details of ticket pre-sales and he (and about fifteen other people) b*y tickets for this bloke who can then immediately sell them at a profit. The boss guy is apparently really rich from doing this and doesn't have to do a proper job. It makes me really angry to see how deliberate and calculated this process is. At least he won't be able to get his dirty mitts on Gladtonbury tickets so I'm still in with a shot at those.

I think ticket touts make a living, but I never see them as very rich. Well at least not the type with a few houses, lots of cars, they always look rather scruffy

Most of them are benefit scroungers making a few quid on the side..
Ive b*ght tickets off touts at gigs loads of time and have rarely pa*d more than the face value of the ticket.
The key is to see the tout about 10 mins before the main act is due on stage when they are desperate to offload their tickets and haggle them down.
