Weight Watchers
Re: Weight Watchers
When I went this week the lady who got weighed before me was a bit deaf so the leader had to speak loudly to her, she'd put on 1 and a half pounds and everyone heard!! I felt so sorry for her!!
Re: Weight Watchers

Re: Weight Watchers
I advise all to leave their car at home and walk it to work and back. If you work within 5 miles, you can do this. Its healthy, makes you feel fresh for the whole working day and you will always get to work on time without any stress from traffic. Keep this up and you will lose weight in a most enjoyable way. Listen to music, an audio book, or FM radio on your phone if it has it. Whats more, you will save a lot of money on petrol/public transport which I'm sure is important to you being a member of the free film forum! As you become more experienced in walking you can then quicken your walking speed.
I walk an average 7 miles a day, to and from work which takes me about 1 hour each way on a brisk walk speed. I just use an oyster card for the odd longer distance journeys which is still far cheaper than b*ying a week or month travelcard. Dont overestimate how far a place is, you'll find its nearer than you think to walk it!
Even if you work further away, you can walk part of the way then catch a bus.
I use this website to plan my walking routes - if you do want to try walking, make sure you walk on safe paths. Dont try alley shortcuts, ok. I notice most of you here are females, so...uh dont do this in high heels! Comfy shoes are important for long walks.

I used to drive, then got banned for 6 months from accumulating points. It was a blessing in disguise. I found myself a richer man, healthier and stress free. No more congestions charges, no more parking fines, no more heavy petrol expenditure, no more road tax, no more car insurance and no more road rage!
Having said all of that, my diet sucks! I eat anything thats put in front of me. Dieting is bloody hard so gonna read all the posts here for ideas. Why am I the only bloke in here though....

Re: Weight Watchers
Whilst I am another fan of walking, I think we enthsiasts need to acknowledge that walking to work is not practical for everyone, but that walking is still a good thing to try to do at some time during the day/week etc. I used to walk to work when it was only 2 miles, but now I've moved further away, I simply wouldn't have time, and to walk you also need pavements, street lights and safe road crossings, all of which are missing from the route I would have to use anyway. Also, some people have to carry things to and from work which would be too heavy. More realistic advice for some might be that which I think Andrews posted, about getting off your bus/tube/train a stop earlier, etc, so that you build in a bit of walking without having to make too drastic and unsustainable a change. Once you've made a start, you can always do more when you've got used to it.

Re: Weight Watchers
Sure its not practical for many but I did say at least walk part of the journey and to walk safe paths. My key point is for us not to find excuses and walk as much as it is safe to walk (to and fro work). I know walking has been mentioned before but I am relating to journeys to work (sorry I missed Andrews post, didnt read the whole thread). Its a hectic life for most us I am sure, so not much time to fit in physical activities, walking is the most accessible, low cost, and healthy option. And as you know its very enjoyableMs Thrifty wrote:Whilst I am another fan of walking, I think we enthsiasts need to acknowledge that walking to work is not practical for everyone, but that walking is still a good thing to try to do at some time during the day/week etc. I used to walk to work when it was only 2 miles, but now I've moved further away, I simply wouldn't have time, and to walk you also need pavements, street lights and safe road crossings, all of which are missing from the route I would have to use anyway. Re: Weight Watchers
FIRST MEETING............over and done with.(wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be!)
However she did ask me to get off the scales then climb back on! at which point I thought "Sh** I've broke them!" then she asked my height and she "I didnt think you weighted that much looking at you!" I think this was meant as a compliment but I was more worried I had broken the scales.
Also its confirmed for me to be in a healthy weight range I need to lose 4 stones!
This is the beginning of my journey!
