Re: Movie Gossip and News
Has 'Superman' found its director?
'Harry Potter' director Chris Columbus has reportedly been offered the chance to direct the next 'Superman' movie.
The director, who has also worked on a number of films including 'The Goonies' (which he wrote) 'Home Alone' and 'Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief', is a huge superhero fan – and has been close to direct a number of comic book blockbusters.
He was linked a number of superhero projects in the past – including 'Spider-Man', 'Daredevil' and the 'Fantastic Four' movies.
According to Superman Homepage, Columbus is seen by Warner Bros as “the right fit” for the Superman franchise.
If Columbus does take the project, he we will work from a script by 'The Dark Knight's' David Goyer – who was also in line to direct the film.
The source added to the site, “David Goyer really wanted to direct but nobody from either studio think he's good in that arena. He's great at coming up with story and ideas, like George Lucas. It's his execution where he's weak, which is why people like Chris and Jonathan Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro have had the best results with his scripts."
Christopher Nolan is producing the reboot. (He's been busy!)

Nolan wants to direct 'Bond' film (- a good thing or maybe you don't think so....)
'James Bond' fans – prepare to be excited. Christopher Nolan is desperate to direct a 007 adventure.
The 'Dark Knight' filmmaker has admitted that his new film, 'Inception', is influenced by his love for 'James Bond' movies – and has issued a 'Come and get me' plea to the film series' bosses.
He said, “I've loved the 'Bond' films since I was a kid. For me, they're always about the expansiveness of cinema. The first 'Bond' films set up infinite possibilities about the world they create. I'd love to do a 'Bond' film.”
Nolan added, “The 'Bond' influence on the film was very intentional because, for me, growing up with the 'Bond' films - they've always stood for grand-scale action."
The next 'James Bond' movie been suspended for the time being because of the financial struggles of movie studio MGM.

Tom Cruise wants to see Beckham in movies. (Oh no, whatever next?)
Tom Cruise believes David Beckham has what it takes to be a Hollywood actor - namely the looks.
The actor has become close friends with the England football star since Beckham and wife Victoria moved to California when he signed for LA Galaxy.
Cruise said, "I've been encouraging him to become an actor. He's got the looks, he's got everything. He'd be terrific."
I just can't see it somehow. He's no Vinnie Jones.

First lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, is already a supermodel turned singer, and she'll soon be making her debut as an actress. She has been shooting scenes in Paris alongside Owen Wilson for Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'.
Woody recruited Bruni-Sarkozy last autumn for the film, which also stars Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates. The romantic comedy tells the story of a family travelling in Paris for business.
