Re: The Last Exorcism
Funny, they flashed the Totalfilm preview screening logo before the screening of this film. Obviously it wasn't a totalfilm screening, maybe they are just advertising their preview club now; but I am sure people like Sky wouldn't be too happy about that (and one of the codes was from Sky)

Re: The Last Exorcism
Well I've been to quite a few SFF showings at Odeon Greenwich where they've flashed the Sky logo before the screening so if Sky lose out on one film, they certainly gained it in another!

Re: The Last Exorcism
Hackeroonie, my husband walked out half way as well.
We found that it was a "documentary" with very little horror. A woman kept laughing at the "scariest" parts of the movie.
We were in Wandsworth. XD

Re: The Last Exorcism
Eli Roth thinks Bell should get an Oscar nom for this film?????? Now I really want to get a ticket to this Q&A with them and see the audience laugh when he tries saying that again.

Re: The Last Exorcism
I dont know about Oscar nomination, that is quite laughable but he did carry this movie brilliantly. It would be half the movie it is without his enigmatic performance.
Its on 70% on Rottentomatoes now, quite healthy. I feel quite good being part of the majority for once, doesnt happen too often, hehe.
At first I was thinking I was with a very very cynical audience, but I dont anymore, having read more of your comments here of which Summer1 in particular sums it up to me. It really is about every's expectations being fuelled by the brilliant but totally misleading marketing strategy. Everyone expected a scary horror film. That wasnt this movie. This movie was a suspense drama, using exorcism as a narrative tool. Future audience should go in lowering their expectations and enjoy what it does offer.
