Thanks very much. He went into hospital for further investigations last week and we were told he had only a few weeks to live, but to be honest it's been a complete shock that he went so quickly. My mother is so upset.

I have every sympathy with your mother. For those left behind they always want their loved ones here for longer, for those who are ill, they often feel the opposite. I hope he wasn't in too much pain and didn't suffer too much.

This next thing is such a dumb thing to say, but death is so final and when it happens, even if expected, you think but I never told them x, y, z or did x, y, z and I meant to.

So right sunny-saver. There's a 15 year gap between my brother and me, he still gets upset that he missed opportunities of really 'talking' to our dad before he died.

Maya Angelou is genuinely one of my heroes.

Gosh, he was such a great prolific performer both in his writing and acting. will be sorely missed :)(
