I didn't say there were something wrong with them otherwise I'd have not checked hostelworld, just saying I don't want a 10 bed dormitory. And there's nothing else so far (too expensive and fully booked, or want a minimum 2 night stay, even for dormitories :( )

I was just about to post: just found couchsurfing, YES!! I sent 5 or 6 requests since last week and got an answer a few minutes ago :)
I've never been there, and it's gonna be my real yearly holidays. Every time I go back to France, I don't feel like it's holidays, I always have to go here and there see my brothers, grandparents, deal with paperwork, etc... and my trip in August will definitely not be holidays.
So, here we are: I have no money left, but as least I'll get to discover Amsterdam this weekend and, hopefully, it will be a sunny stay!

Random request - does anyone know of a cheapish place to stay in Leicester? Central would be good, but just trying to find a cheapish place. The cheapest I've found is £40 which is fine but I have to book a fair few rooms so am being a bit tight... THANKS :D

I am in Iceland, the weather is sunny and warm and the landscape is gorgeous! Been adopted by the loveliest cat in the Botanical Gardens. Just waiting for the buffet lunch. In a farm hotel with the most wonderful view.

Don´t worry, I have taken about 350 photos since yesterday. The sun is still out and it´s past 10pm! Sunset is apparently around 10.30pm. Before 21 June they had midnight sun. Thankfully our hotel curtains are pretty thick. OH is in bed already and I have come out to the free hotel computer to see what´s going on!

Animals seem to gravitate towards us. I fed a little lamb milk today and we stroked dogs and said cat. Been at a farmer´s house where he sang us a song while playing guitar. The landscape is amazing. Snowy mountains, green grass, glistening blue lakes. And we had a 4 course buffet lunch earlier. It was included but otherwise food and drink is pretty expensive here, especially the booze.
