Glad you enjoyed it, can I pick your brains as you went am session as well. How long did you have to queue for before you got through security? Did you arrive before 8am for 10am session?

I got to the Olympic Park at about 9.15am and it didn't take too long to get through security. They had loads of scanners open so it doesn't take too long to get through (approx 5 mins). That gave me time to wonder around a little bit and browse round the official merchandise megastore before I entered the stadium.

The park opens at 7am but I have heard there is a massive queue at the gate before then.

The stadium is only a 5-10 minute walk from the Stratford gate but it is important to note that if you watching a session at the other venues (hockey, basketball, Velodrome or BMX) then it is an additional 30 minute walk away so you need to allow time for that.

Depending on whether you want to walk around the park before your event, I would advise arriving at least an hour before the session starts, but the park isn't too busy first thing in the morning. The busiest time is lunchtime/early afternoon, when the morning sessions have emptied and people have arrived early for the afternoon/evening sessions.

Bring a camera, poncho, sunscreen, cap, and empty bottle(s)!

It seems that the travelcard sent with your olympic tickets is now valid on the hi speed javelin train to Stratford International from St Pancras International. That makes more sense!

Also for those going to the Olympic Park, you may be interested to know that when you get to the top of the Beat Box you will be able to hold the Olympic Torch that are used in the Relays and have your picture taken with it. The Beat Box is free entry and the photo taking is free and available for download later and also at the end of the tour, you get a limited edition bottle of coke!

With the Orbit you need to get a ticket beforehand, online.

There is so much to do at the Olympic Park, I have been twice now as a spectator with a ticket and 4 times as a Games Maker, and still have not done everything!!

And what a race with Bolt this evening. We couldn't get tickets so sat outside on the lawn in the Olympic Park with hundreds of others, and watched on the big screen at Park Live, and we could hear the cheers from the Stadium. What a brilliant end to our day.

I managed to grab a ticket to the Velodrome yesterday to watch the cycling so off I went to the Olympic Park for a second day in a row.

The atmosphere in the stadium is electric but there is an incredible atmosphere in the Velodrome too. It is such a cool venue which is visually impressive. I saw Ed Clancy win bronze in the men's omnium. Another great experience.
