Well, I couldn't risk the spice-scented one, it would make me hungry! One of my colleagues wears vanilla perfume and that has the same effect. Most incongruous early in the morning, too.

Speaking of out of place smells, West Hampstead tube station always smells like roast chicken. Has anyone else noticed that? Perhaps this should be in the food thread...

Christmas - God. I get depressed by it. I will get all these bottles of wine again which I will have a hard time palming off to friends and family when all I want is Picturehouse cinema vouchers! And if I get one more showergel/bodylotion set, I'll scream. So yeah, I am not the biggest Christmas fan around. It involves scrambling on a cheapo flight to see my family for just the right amount of days before we start killing each other, writing lots of meaningless cards to people I speak to once a year and spending my weekends hunting for presents that actually mean something, which ususally involves begging them to give me a clue. At least my Mum is now just giving me money with the token book present. I am dreading the office "Secret Santa" thing where people give you either a book with jokes or a candles set that cost exactly a fiver.

I have finally booked my Christmas flight home last night at 5 to midnight as I was worried about those airport taxes apparently going up today - well, the outward leg at last, don't want to get too organised! That means I will once again miss the East Enders Christmas week, anyone volunteering to tape it for me?

Btw, has anyone got their Christmas office party slashed this year? It says that 25% of Londoners have had their Christmas Party cancelled and that the BBC is scrapping the £25 per head it usually spends. £25 per head, where were they going, Pizza Express? We must be doing well, our budget is at least 4 times that. The irony is that I couldn't care less for the Office Christmas Party. Give me the money in cash, LOL!
