It's not so much a win but an invitation that dropped into my inbox today for a free night's stay plus dinner at the Oxford Belfry Hotel at the end of September. I must have entered a comp with them once! Has anyone been to this hotel before?

No, but considered it when staying in Oxford last year. I always check hotels on Tripadvisor before booking, do you? If the Belfry's entry alerts you to any particular issues, you will be prepared, but it should be great! (At least 2 cinemas in Oxford, too, and plenty of restaurants if your prize hadn't included half-board.) We stayed further out but just used the cheap park and ride bus to reach the town centre.

Hum, the Tripadvisor reviews aren't that glowing! I don't want to go into Oxford itself, I have done that already, but Blenheim Palace and some other big manor houses are near so I thought if the weather is nice I could make a whole weekend out of it, try and find a cheaper B&B for the second night though.

Just won 2 tickets for the Descent 2 premiere on Monday. Lucky, it's my only day off work next week! And I never win anything normally... :star: :star:

There were quite a few comps running for this, but I am very happy as normally I don't win anything. It should be fun, Descent 1 was quite decent...
