Just under 10000 applied for 3000 tickets? so almost 1 in 3 people should have managed to get tickets! That doesn't seem true for FMUKers though....

I don't think it was icecream in the film. Wasn't it some kind of smoothie? God my memory....

Saw this yesterday afternoon. In the same audience as John Landis which is a thrill in itself.
As for the film it was fantastic. Funny, smart, endlessly inventive with a fantastic soundtrack. Edgar Wright's direction is so assured and confident that you completely b*y into this slightly off-kilter world immediately. The mix of recognisable reality and computer game inspired fantasy fights is perfect. Visually it's beautiful and highly imaginative.
The cast are top notch from the main players to the uncredited cameos (the vegan police) and the smaller roles in-between. Michael Cera is great as the slightly self-obsessed and selfish Scott and gets good support from Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona. Even better are the smaller roles. Anna Kendrick so good in Up in the Air is excellent here as Scott's sister as is Kieran Culkin as Wallace (the best character in the book and probably here too) And there are all too brief but hilarious appearances from Brandon Routh, Chris Evans and Jason Schwartzman as a few of the evil exes.
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is the work of a director in total control of his material, using every technical trick in the book to deliver an enjoyable, inventive film. Oh and look out for two of the best uses of the Universal logo theme ever.
