North Wales is beautiful, north Yorkshire coast, Cornwall, dumfries and Galloway, the coast from Edinburgh to Newcastle is also just gorgeous as well. We're off to Aviemore in the October week for some luxury!

I'm going in January for a few weeks and have been reading up on the north west. Great area for live musis, both in Seatlle and Portland and there's a great chain of Bars/hotels/venues called McMennamins i'll be checking out.

Hope you can recommend some things when you get back

Had a fab time camping in Pooley Bridge and our puppy loved exploring the woods and meeting some horses for the first time.

gorgeous puppy. Glad you had fun.
We've (hubby and I) just come back from a long weekend in north yorkshire. Lots of lakes and fishermen around but would have a clue how to fish.
Had such a great time. If anyones planning to go, I recomend the Woodland Lakes Lodges in Thirsk

Speaking of recommendations, if anyone wants a break in Cornwall, I went to the St Moritz Hotel near Polzeath last year - it's fantastic. They have a hotel or apartments. The hotel suites are amazing - like a super modern one bed flat. We got a 2 for 1 nights deal so was really cheap! Really close to the beach too.

AYBG - just been trawling this thread to see if anything about Barcelona and have to agree with Beate and others initial reservations about only one thread......... it is now getting quite long. Are you sure we can't have different threads for at least different countries? Anyone else out there feel the same about this????

Anyway, I have booked £2.99 flights to Barcelona later this month and am looking for hotel/tips etc. I have seen quite a few possible ones on tripadvisor but am getting snow blind

Looking for comfortable, not noisy and cheapish hotel in a safe area.............
Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.

£2.99 is cheap, where did you find them?

I've only been to Barcelona for the day a few times from Salou so i haven't really got any hotel tips but there are so many things to see you probably will only use it as a place to sleep.

Just back from Australia! Had an awesome time with the family. I would definately recommend it because it is a beautiful country. Temperatures nearer to 40 degrees. Came home to this freezing weather! Wish I could have stayed there!
