Ok peeps a little review/opinion off me as I did go and see this while I was in America last week ;)

I would refer to it as nostalgic cinema, the cinematography I wouldnt portray as modern but it works for the era that the film is set in.
The storyline itself is very gripping, though possibly predictable if you have your wits about you when it comes to storylines, the action is shared out fairly, with no cheesy hollywood blockbuster explosions, afew laughs here and there, a very 'simple' film in terms of the way it is done but the simple effects often have the greatest impact.
Both me and my bf enjoyed it, if Id seen it for free we would rate it 7/10 :)

I wish there was a free screening up here in the North East. I think it looks interesting.

I found this to be a reasonably entertaining film but it isn’t nearly as stylish as it thinks it is.

Ronan is a remarkable talent, I thought she was excellent in Atonement and really shines here as well. She plays Hanna as coldly calculating yet vulnerable and inquisitive with a sense of wonder when she discovers something new (notably when she encounters electrical appliances). There is some good supporting work from Blanchett but Tom Hollander really is deliciously evil. The German accents were slightly dodgy in some places. The fight scenes are entertaining but the story never really develops the way it should and the background of the plot is hastily explained at the end.

This was directed by Joe Wright, the guy who brought us Pride & Prejudice and Atonement and I think he should stick to his comfort zone. Subtle this film is not and feels like an imitation of a Tarantino movie. The handheld camera work and spinning close ups made me feel dizzy and the jaunty soundtrack was rather overpowering. All in all, a bizarre niche film. 6/10.
