From VUE "Coming Soon"

"A soldier returns from war and climbs the social ladder by seducing and controlling the most powerful women. But can he control himself?

(Contains strong sex)

Synopsis

Bel Ami is a sumptuous costume drama about seduction and manipulation in 19th century Paris. Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson) is a down-at-heel soldier returning from the war. Once in Paris, he gets into a high social set and soon learns that the secret of success in that world is through the women. With that in mind, he sets about seducing the most powerful and influential women, never mind their age, until he has reached previously unimaginable heights. But he has made many enemies on his way: will they be his ultimate undoing? Or will he manage that himself? "

Rating 15
Length 103 min

actually Pattinson looks a cracking villain in the trailer, this could be his best role yet where he gets to prove his acting credentials.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

nah, he over-acts in places, and he filmed it well over 2 years ago. he'll prove himself in Cosmopolis later this year - a Cronenberg film, so with that i have no doubt.

Can't wait until Wednesday though I'm going to a screening with the Directors Present. (thanks to Octopus for telling me about it!)
