Saw this today!

I thought this movie was AWESOME! If you liked the first one you will love the second... It was action packed and has plenty of humour!

8/10
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

Actiona packed and totally cheeseball, so bad but good but not that good.
Thought the blood effects were a tad exaggerated.
Cheesy oneliners made it for me though!

Gotta say, disappointed with The Expendables 2. I thought everyone was under used, especially Van Damme. Would have been nice if Li would of stuck around more. A few nice touches of action and humor, but other wise just old action stars, shooting faceless bad guys while repeating each others one liners. It Passed the time, nothing more.

What a hoot - don't take it too seriously everyone. You know what to expect with this film - and it delivers. It's action-packed, machine-gun filled, hand-to-hand-combat, full of one- liners. In fact, it's sometimes hard to keep up with the famous movie quotes that get bandied about. I found myself chuckling on more than one occasion, and laughed out loud when Chuck Norris appeared on the scene. The guys are having a great time, and sending themselves up. I thoroughly enjoyed Jet Li's fight scene earlier in the film, and Jason Statham's set piece was well executed (good choice of word here, because he must take out about a dozen single-handedly).

If you are looking for a deep, meaningful, thought-provoking film, this is not going to do it for you. But it never set out to do that. If you are after plenty of action, (the sort where there is an incredibly high body count), then this is the film for you.

8/10 from me. :D

It looks entertaining enough... But is it worth watching on the big screen or can it wait and be see on the small screen from the comfort of your own sofa?

Expendables 2 - Yay or Nay?

#10 Post by gpdfi » Wed Aug 22, 2012 11:03 am

Hi,

Has anyone seen The Expendables 2 yet and if so is it any good.

The first one was a good action movie but its the epic kill count and blood splatter which made the film.

The 2nd one is a 15 so I'm guessing it will be tame in comparison and especially with Chuck Norris and his 'PG13' style.

Any comments welcome and thanks for the input :D
