Olympus has Fallen
When terrorists take down the White House (code name “Olympus”), a disgraced Secret Service agent attempts to rescue the president of the United States in Olympus Has Fallen, an electrifying and inspired action thriller from acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day). A small group of heavily armed, meticulously trained extremists launch a daring daylight ambush on the White House, overrunning the building and taking President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) and his staff hostage inside an impenetrable underground presidential bunker. As a pitched battle rages on the White House lawn, former presidential security officer Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) joins the fray, and finds his way into the besieged building to do the job he has trained for all his life: to protect the president – at all costs. Banning uses his extensive training and detailed knowledge of the presidential residence to become the eyes and ears of Acting President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) and his key advisors. With tension rising, the radicals begin executing hostages and threaten to kill more unless their outrageous demands are met, our national security team must relay on Banning to locate the president’s young son, who is being sought as the ultimate test of the president’s loyalty to his country, and rescue the president before the terrorists can unleash their ultimate, terrifying plan.

The fall of the house of Usher
Saw it yesterday in France as it was already released there.
Pretty good and captivating and in my opinion much better than the last Die Hard.
Remind me of Under siege actually, you just replace Steven Seagal by Gerard Butler :)

Re: Olympus has Fallen
Just out from seeing this, really enjoyed it!
They kept it going really well, lots of action, and you've got to love the cheesy one liners they added in to relieve the tension!
The one in particular REALLY made my day(take a wild guess at which one!)
8/10

Re: Olympus has Fallen
Thought this was a solid but ultimately forgettable action flavoured thriller. I'd say it's worth catching if you're in a forgiving mood so overall it gets a 6/10 from me...

Miffed to have missed this, sounds like it hit the mark. Still, there's always the upcoming Sky screening....

Re: Olympus has Fallen
Back from Glasgow Cineworld. Personally I really enjoyed this. Get pass the American patriotism and it is a very decent film. Some of the action was a bit too gory and
when you seen one execution you seen them all.
Lots of stars spotting too. Entertained throughout. Only thing why does Butler need to put on an accent? 8/10
