Frozen Ground

It would have been lot better if they had avoided the shakey camerawork.

The shaking was distracting, but overall, quite enjoyed this. Whilst john cusack did not scare anyone (for heavens sake it's cute and lovable john cusack !), I was pleased by the understated Nicolas Cage & surprised by how good both vanessa hudgens and (more suprisingly) 50 cent were.

I did find parts of the film initially confusing, though.
When vanessa hudgens was telling of her abduction, the scene often cut to john cusack terrorizing a young woman who had more than a passing resemblence to vanessa herself. Couldn't work out if this was a flashback at the time....obvioulsy, as it turned out, it was not a flashback as the girl in that scene ended up very-much-dead.
overall, a competent 7/10

ps lovely to sit in an airconditionned room after such a sweltering day.

Saw this in a busy Glasgow Cineworld in the company of many happy FMUKers. :D :P 8-)
I did find the shaking camera annoying at times plus the very close up filming of faces, etc. I also found the screen quite dark in places which did probably add to the atmosphere but I would have preferred clear, sharp pictures.
I found the end credits very moving when they showed the photos of victims, date they disappeared and whether the body had been found. :tears: The acting was generally good though I do have some problems with Nicholas Cage as he always seems to be the same, no matter the film.

This was actually quite different to what I was expecting (a 'Se7en' wannabe) as it turned out to be relatively realistic & quite respectful re-enactment of past events.

I thought that Nic Cage put in a rather subdued performance (in a good way ;) ), Vanessa Hudgens was solid and I particularly liked that the John Cusack's Robert Hansen wasn't in any way charismatic which helped him to create a quite believable portrayal of an individual that was evil to the core.

I agree that at some points (particularly in the beginning) the camera work was unnecessarily shaky & there were definitely a few scenes that didn't exactly benefit from being poorly lit. I also felt that the final confrontation between the two male leads was a bit abrupt, maybe that was exactly the way real life events played out but from a purely dramatic POV the execution of that scene could (& to be honest should) have been better.

However, despite these (minor) criticisms I still thought that this was a solid dramatic thriller that did just enough to warrant getting a 7/10 from me...

I went to see this last night in Wandsworth
Film was good. But for me lacking something. But not sure what
I love this type if film tho.
I also didnt like the shaky camera at beginning it got used to it quickly.
I thought it would be more cat and mouse chase and little disappointed that it wasn't
I would have preferred the story to be more about the while time he was serial killer Instead it wasp kt really from the girl who escaped until his capture
But I suppose they wanted to keep it true to her story and people didn't know when these people were killed either

7/10 From me.

My dad loved it. And have 9/10

Annoying that the rubbish Frances Ha got the superscreen and we were squeezed into screen 7, which is a decent size but it should have been the other way round. There was a woman in front of us who discovered she was in the wrong queue after a while but before I could tell her to stay where she was as it was bound to be the better film, she had already rushed off - such a shame. Nice to see ZoeBanfield who we apparently missed at the Odeon Greenwich last night - sorry!

I thought this was fascinating and infuriating in equal measures - just how long did the justice system take to catch up with him, capture him AND get him convicted! The US justice system is shitty in many respects but in this case not even a plea bargain helped the guy to reduce his sentence too much, thank God. I didn't notice any shaky camera and found both Cusack's and Cage's understated performances very fitting. The only thing that annoyed me was how stupid Cindy was, constantly running away from safe places into dangerous ones, but I could have clouted Cage's wife too when she loudly complained that Cindy shouldn't even stay one night - she almost got her killed, the silly overprivileged cow!

Saw this at Greenwich, shame was in small screen as picture focus at times was bad. packed cinema and stuck in front row. Powerful movie, Nicholas Cage at his best.

Saw this tonight, great to chat to funthing and a quick hello to prettyxcool!

Wow! Wasn't expecting Nicholas cage or Vanessa Hudgens. Great to see them up close and personal ;)

After reading reviews I kinda got the plot so it was pretty straightforward. Disappointed there were not many twists. You knew what was going to happen. The only drama was looking after the girl.

Good acting from the actors

Was at tonight's screening at the West End Vue, the distributor came out to "introduce" the film and suddenly Nic Cage and Vanessa Hudgens appeared to everyone's amazement. Nic Cage explained that it was based on a true life story and pa*d homage to the determination of the two characters to bring Hansen to justice.

But it was a very bleak film, and
it turns out by the time Hansen was caught, he killed at least 17 women.
Didn't like the shakycam at all.
