First off...worst red carpet coverage ....ever

As for the film, if you knew the true story beforehand, it lacks drama / tension.

Tom Hanks was ok, but nothing exceptional.

Life boat was kinda cute :)

7/10

Back from Glasgow Cineworld.

As I didn't know of the story beforehand I felt the tension from the film. Though it did dragged a tiny wee bit for me. Shave 20 minutes and I would have been happier. 6/10

I thought the final scene was incredible from Tom Hanks. I really enjoyed it.

Just back from Glasgow with OH, teddybear1, Yinster and Ploggit.

Was a bit worried about the length if the film but time flew by. Absolutely loved this film, thought Tom Hanks was fantastic. Felt like I was on the boat with him. Edge of seat stuff!

Only negative had nothing to do with the film and to do with the four people chatting constantly sitting beside us. Takes a lot for me to say something but I did - twice. (You'd have been proud McG!) Why come to the cinema to chat the whole way through....and not about the film! Just downright bad manners!

Shaky cam alert. This movie is ok for the first half but the second half has really bad shaky scenes continuously to the end of the movie.

There are people out there, like me, who need to know this before deciding to see the movie.

Apart from that, I liked it.

I echo the sentiments above. It really didn't drag at all, the "baddies" were very convincing and the final scene was understated and remarkably well acted. If you can give an Oscar for five minutes of acting, then go ahead.

How bad was the red carpet coverage ? I don't even think that it was live. I was in the Cineworld at Glasgow at 6pm and they did a feed before most people came in showing Tom Hanks making his was into the cinema it then cut off and came back on 30 mins later. If you went to see the film not knowing how it finished I would imagine that he could have wasted it a bit by given away how it finished during his pre-show interview.
However still didn't waste a great film and the 45mins of footage before the film gave the popcorn munchers and bag rustlers a chance to gorge themselves before the film started so that they had nothing left when the film actually started.
Even although it was 645 for a 7 start people were still coming into the showing at Glasgow at 745.Can't they get there on time like the rest of us ?
