Hercules

#1 Post by RAZORBACK » Wed Jul 23, 2014 6:17 pm

With previews tomorrow (just before it's general release on Friday) I thought I'd get the discussion thread up & running ;) .

Think this looks like it could be quite entertaining, the role itself is tailor made for 'The Rock' so hopefully it'll live up to expectations...at the very least it should be better than 'The Legend Of Hercules' from earlier this year :cross: ...

Got my tickets for tonight, now Guardians of the Galaxy has popped up for an hour later don't know which to choose!
I do like Greek myths etc and though The Rock was an excellent choice for the role.... hmm

I passed my invite to Guardians of the Galaxy in the end and saw this.
Really enjoyed it, as did my friend who went with me.
Screening was quiet, maybe 70/80% full I expect lots were going to the other film at 7:30.
One couple brought their kid who couldn't have been more than 5 8O
Another a little older who seemed to be in their pj's complete with blankie 8O
The film flew by, not too silly and not too serious.
Dwayne Johnson seriously hot as the legendary hero!

The O2 was full of FMUKers tonight!

This so didn't disappoint.
The Rock! John Hurt! Ian McShane! Rufus Sewell! Joseph Fiennes, still acting I see!
The 90 minutes flew by in a fun and entertaining tongue-in-cheek romp.
My favourite quote of all time: "Don't just stand there - kill someone!" :bwl:
Unfortunately Dwayne Johnson wore a beard and wasn't nearly enough bare-chested, but I'll forgive that. Ian McShane eagerly awaiting his heroic death was a highlight.

And the film didn't overstay its welcome either.

8/10

Really enjoyed this movie, the Rock was hot! Great cast that worked really well together. I had been told this movie was pants and the rating isnt good on IMDB, well I'm giving it a healthy 8/10......pleasantly surprised o/

Cineworld Edinburgh was almost full which surprised me as it was a lovely summer evening outside. The film was better than thought it would be after speaking to chelle1973 before the film started. Peter Mullen is one of my favourite actors. Touches of humour in it too. Ian McShane and his predictions on his own death were funny. 7/10

Back from Glasgow Cineworld.

Personally I enjoyed it. Didn't take itself too seriously and didn't outstay it's welcome. Plus it didn't labour on the labours. Some very funny lines and what a cast. Laugh when Peter Mullen spoke in his broad Scottish accent considering everyone else had different accents. And kept thinking that Ingrid Bolsø Berdal was Nicole Kidman. Took my wee cousins to see this and both enjoyed it too 7/10
