The Unbeatables
The Unbeatables
Saw this today on a Tuesday morning which was rather novel, but had it the extra of having to worry about parking in city centre which evening screenings don't have.
Reasonably well attended, and given was a kids film, reasonably well behaved in Edinburgh.
A nice animated story that was able to hold the attention despite being rather predictable.
I wondered about the English football references since the setting did not seem to be a British town, and finally as the credits rolled I realised that this was a foreign film that had been re-voiced with English actors, all of which had seemed very familiar but hard to guess. That explained the fact that the lips seemed initially out of synch, but it didn't actually appear dubbed.

No toilet trips are always a good sign, both children (5 and 11) enjoyed this, DH got a bit bored but I thought it was ok, funny in places and the animation was good.

Enjoyed this, much to my surprise. My wife and I had been dismissive of it but we were won over by the opening sequence and the continual stream of football in-jokes. The kids in the audience were quiet and seemed to enjoy it too. 7/10

Re: The Unbeatables
Saw this on Tuesday morning. Nice to see Ploggit and Moggers there too.
This was alright. It was originally made in a different language and called a different name but as an animated film you won't know at all. I felt it was slighter long but good in parts. There were loud chuckles from children in the screen and some of the lines were pretty funny. Unfortunately as a few days have passed now I can't remember much but feel if it was on telly I would say yip I saw this. It is a background kind of film. 5/10

Re: The Unbeatables
My nephews loved this a few weeks ago
But for me it was instantly forgettable
I love kids films and normally watch again and again
Not this one tho

Re: The Unbeatables
Thought this was okay, visually it was really well done but the story dragged at times and the voice work was incredibly disappointing (it had a real 'phoned in' vibe to it).
Overall it did just enough to get a 6/10 from me but it's certainly not a film that I'd recommend to others...

Re: The Unbeatables
Saw the film following an interview I saw with one of the voice actors, Ralf Little. I was excited to see how the film would be adapted from its original Argentinian format, and if those involved could pull it off. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the quality of the sound and the laboured story, despite the animation being okay.
