The Tribe

Forewarned was forearmed, but I was expecting to be able to follow this drama despite it not only being in foreign but also in sign language. Alas I found it really hard to comprehend what was going on. I struggled to determine even the basics such as was it a school? Was it a young offenders institution (albeit an open one)? No idea what the girls fixation with Italy was all about nor what they were doing at the embassy.
I also found a lot of it repetitively boring such as banging on rows upon rows of truck windscreens, watching someone looking in every cupboard and drawer of a flat, or following them walking up 6 or 7 flights of stairs.

That said, and from what I was able to put together of the story, it was harrowing and haunting, and one of the most shocking scenes was filmed in a single take and in fairly graphic detail.

Be very scared of bedside cabinets though!

It was set in a deaf school, and the girls were being sex trafficked to a brothel in Italy by their teachers.

I thought the film was excellent though obviously not for everyone.
