I saw this last night and although it wasn't quite what I expected it was a rather good drama but developed into a tense story. Maggie Gyllenhaal was very good as the kindergarten teacher who focussed more and more attention on a little 5 year old boy as a poetry genius as her relationships with her own family was declining as they were not meeting her aspirations for them.
It's worth a watch but don't except the usual American 'sweet' drama . . .the original film film on which this is based is Israeli.

I saw this last night too, the film was as I expected and although the ending did make me enjoy it more I couldn’t help finding that the poetry the child was creating was unrealistic. That probably wasn’t the point I suppose but it took me out of the film a little!

A hard watch and a very disturbing film.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is brilliant as the Kindergarten Teacher with the obsessive and disturbing behaviour. Parker Sevak, is a good match, as the little boy who is both innocent and intelligent.

A slow burner that turns into a tense thriller. 8/10

Lovely to catch up with some FMUKers who I have not seen in yonks!
