Re: Ready Player One

Did NOT see it at Kingston. We waited 50 minutes on our feet just to be told at 10:30 that the film was not ready/there. We were offered Game Night instead (which we took, since we wanted to see it anyway) or complimentary tickets. It could have been handled better. Surely the cinema knew about the ...

Re: Manchester by the Sea

Watched in Kingston, a packed screening. For a moment it looked as if it would start at 18:20, so we feared the usual start then stop then start again, but fortunately they caught it in time and froze it at the Film Certificate for ten minutes! Although Casey Affleck was very, very good, the film ...

We loved it! Woody was great (as usual!). Good to see Hailee growing up nicely!

Re: Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates

Saw it at Kingston, not very full. Enjoyed it, despite Zac Efron!

Re: Trumbo

Saw it at the Komedia in Brighton, quite full. Great performances by Bryan Cranston and Louis CK. Helen Mirren was really good too. Always good to be reminded about intolerance and witch-hunting.

Re: Sisters (2015)

Saw it a Vue Shepherds Bush, cinema could do with a refurb, lots of sagging seats with holes in!
We actually loved the film: a kind of Stepbrothers! Tina Fey and Amy Pohler were great, and Maya Rudolph was superb!

Re: The Martian

Bluewater was quite full and well behaved, after Fox security threatened to throw out anyone using their mobiles...Like many others, I didn't think 3D added much. The film was brilliant, though; the cast well chosen and Matt Damon funny and touching.

Re: A Walk In The Woods

Lovely movie, nice interaction between Nolte and Redford. In Wimbledon they started it at 10:10, then stopped it and restarted it at the right time. Oh, well.

Re: Trainwreck

Enjoyed it more than I thought. Odeon Kingston was only half full; they managed to mess it up by starting the movie at about 6 instead than 6:30. They stopped it, started again at 6:30, tried to put on Diary of a Teenage Girl instead, stopped it again and finally it started (for good!) at 6:40.
