Re: A Walk In The Woods
I quite enjoyed this, and there were some laugh out loud moments, but I did keep thinking about the age thing! Bill Bryson is only in his 60s now, so when he wrote the book he was a lot younger!
Not sure I'd bother watching it again, but an entertaining couple of hours.

Re: A Walk In The Woods
I saw this film today - my first in well over a year and a half
I really enjoyed it especially the interaction between Redford and Nulty. It kind of fizzled out a bit I thought, but was entertaining stuff nontheless. I'd like to propose an alternative ending to the ledge scene:

Funny, I was thinking exactly the same about the ledge scene but in my case because I am currently rewatching Dr Quinn Medicine Woman and she and Sully do the same in one episode!

Re: A Walk In The Woods

Loved Nolte but it should have been Newman. Where is a time machine when you need it

Loved the movie - light, feel good and humorous, it all worked perfectly
I had no problem with Robert Redford's age discrepancy, looking at Bill Bryson I am sure he is flattered by the comparison + it seems that the script was for a couple of retirement age blokes rather than 40+ what Bill would've been at the time
9/10
Preferred Cinemas: Gate, Coronet, Odeon Kensington, Whiteleys, Vue Westfield, Shepherds Bush, The Lexi or any West End Cinema

Lovely movie, nice interaction between Nolte and Redford. In Wimbledon they started it at 10:10, then stopped it and restarted it at the right time. Oh, well.

I would've liked to see it with Newman though. Him and Redford always worked well together.
I couldn't agree more! Redford appeared to be phoning in his performance

I was lucky enough to see this at the swishy Picturehouse Central, with a Q&A with Bill Bryson, which was fab.
Film was so so, not as good as Wild but still worth watching to see Nolte 6/10

Thought it was a lovely film too, a little slow in places, and much better than I expected because of the humour, did not expect it to be a comedy. Loved the witty quips from Redford. The girl they were running away from was funny. At first I thought Emma Thompson was his daughter! And expected her to call him Dad rather than Bill. Also, I thought he was speaking to Cat Stevens too rather than Steven Kats!

The majority of the trail is in forest or wild lands, although some portions traverse towns, roads and farms. The trail conservancy claims that the Appalachian Trail is the longest hiking-only trail in the world
7/10
Screen 4 of Central Picturehouse has a row of seats that had double leg room! Guess where we sat! Nice to catch up with funthing and jeanelle, and thanks for the company.

I thought he played it down as he was directing, and did want to make his role overshadow anyone else's?valda wrote:The Sparrow wrote:Yet again Nolte stole this film whereas Redford came across as pretty bland.
