Love Happens

#1 Post by andrews » Sun Sep 06, 2009 9:11 am

Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston star in the romantic drama Love Happens. When a self-help author arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar, he unexpectedly meets the one person who might finally be able to help him help himself. Dr. Burke Ryan (Eckhart) is on the precipice of a major multimedia deal, but the therapist who asks his patients to openly confront their pain is secretly unable to take his own advice. Eloise Chandler (Aniston) has sworn off men and decided to focus on her floral business. However, when she meets Burke at the hotel where he’s speaking, there is an instant attraction. But will two people who have met the right person at exactly the wrong time be able to give love another chance? As each struggles with the hurt of love and loss, they realize that in order to move forward, they need to let go of the past. And if they can, they’ll find that, sometimes, love happens when you least expect it.

I loved the trailer, and will probably go and see this. It's due to be released in the US on the 18th September, and in the UK on 9th October.

Yes, this sounds like a really pleasant and enjoyable film. Certainly something to look forward to, and if there are no previews, I shall go as a birthday treat.

There seems to be alot of romance movies that have been previews recently. Wouldn't be suprised if this was one too.

I saw this last night, there were only 5 of us in the whole cinema!! The film was OK, definitely not as bad as the reviews make out! It was quite slow in places, but held my attention and wasn't predictable. I would give it 6/10, but its probably worth waiting for the DVD instead of the cinema!!

According to the reviews, it's a complete dud. It certainly doesn't sound very memorable.

I usually love this type of film however Love Happens is terrible. The lead character is pretty unlikeabe. The main focus of the film revolves around him dealing with his issues & there is not too much quality interaction with Jennifer Aniston's character. I'd give it 3/10.

M&M has summed it up very succinctly.

I saw this last night using a free Cineworld ticket - I tend to agree that it wasn't brilliant, but certainly not the worst film I've ever seen. Possibly 5/10.
