The Verb

Radio 3's much-loved cabaret of the word returns to the Radio Theatre on Friday 17 June.

Poet, broadcaster and Bard of Barnsley Ian McMillan, the Shirley Bassey of performance poetry, will be joined on stage by Whitbread Poetry Award winner Bernard O'Donoghue and The Verb word spy Alex Horne who tells a history of The Chinese Whisper.

The acerbic duo Ginger and Black perform musical comedy with a dark side and author Stella Duffy reads a specially commissioned piece.

Please note this edition will be recorded as live and will be broadcast later that night at 10pm.

Recording on Friday 17 June at the BBC Radio Theatre, Broadcasting House, London W1A 1AA. Doors open at 7.15pm.

Join David Walliams for an hilarious new comedy panel show! It's fair to say WALL OF FAME is going to be unlike any topical entertainment panel show you've ever seen before!

Taking up the hot seat David Walliams will preside over two teams of three in a celebrity panel show that tackles the latest stories to set tongues wagging – from the latest You Tube phenomenon through to celebrity tittle tattle - if the nation have been gossiping about it, the players will need to know all about it.
 


At the opening of each show a giant wall featuring the 25 famous faces will be unveiled. As the focal point for the show this WALL OF FAME will spark off lines of questioning for a series of riotous rounds that will see will see panellists playing merry hell with the biggest stories of the week.


Anyone who’s anyone will be up on the wall and Walliams will hold court in a contest that finds out which team has their finger on the pulse of pop culture. He commented: “I’m looking forward to taking control of the Wall of Fame, my new weekly, newsy, quizzy, gossipy entertainment show. This may not be hard news but I shall nevertheless be taking my quiz master role most seriously…with lots of laughter.”

BBC Singers Light Fantastic: A Little Light Music

As part of the BBC's Light Fantastic festival, the BBC Singers present a potpourri of popular light choral pieces. It includes Ketèlby's evocative In a Monastery Garden, Horovitz's light-hearted cantata chronicling the adventures of Noah and Bridge's bittersweet tale of two goslings who fall in love but end up on the same dinner plate.

Hit BBC Three show: Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show.

FINAL FREE tickets are now available to be in the live studio audience for the second series

BBC Radio 2 - Friday Night is Music Night: The Brit School Special

Join us for a special Friday Night is Music Night with one of the most famous performing arts schools in the country, The Brit School.

Famous for finding artists like Adele, Amy Winehouse and Katy Melua, tonight's programme features the BBC Concert Orchestra, conductor Mike Dixon and 90 of the school's students.

As part of Friday Night is Music Night's film season, the music includes The Flying Theme from ET, Skid Row from Little Shop of Horrors, Let the River Run from Working Girl, It Only Takes A Moment from Hello Dolly, The Sea Hawk, My Friend the Doctor from Doctor Doolittle, Mrs Robinson from The Graduate, Step in Time from Mary Poppins and Dancing Queen from Mamma Mia.

Chain Reaction - BBC Radio 4 - 6th July 2011

A brand new series of the show where entertainers take it in turns to act as an interviewer, talking to someone whose life and career is of particular interest to them.

This recording will feature Simon Day (from The Simon Day Show on Radio 4, and The Fast Show) interviewing Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order).

Peter Hook will then interview the poet John Cooper Clarke for the next episode in the series.
